But if they have modified your JSA to take into account your health issues, that should count for mandatory courses as well as work. It seems idiotic to me that they accept I cant sit for long periods when it comes to work but then expect me to sit all day in my local community center on a course and threaten to stop my money if I dont attend.

    thats JSA though.
they make as many accommodations as they can, due to your condition..... but you are claiming JOB SEEKERS ALLOWANCE ... a benefit for those actively seeking work.
as i said before .... you can't expect them to run courses designed to meet your specific circumstances.
on ESA you would have grounds to refuse because of the length of time.
as i said .... look at college instead

What happens with ESA medicals, i.e, are there different options?

As I said before, Wrag requires claimants to sometime go to JCP appointments, work program to help the get back into work following an short illness.

The support group is designed for people where they have a long term illness and wont be getting back into work anytime soon, .

I wish it was as cut and dried as that. I spent the best part of a year in hospital, 25% of it I was in and out of Critical Care. Yet when I came out (unable to walk or stand only because my leg muscles had disappeared and had been fed via a central line most of the time weight went from 13st to 8st on discharge) I claimed ESA - had to go to a Tribunal and was placed in the work group - twice this happened all within 4 years.
I don't have a bad back or such like, I have a life threatening disease that to solve would need a transplant (too old) mental health problems and a whole host of major vascular issues, mobility problems etc.

I attended the British Legion every other week who pushed and pushed me into voluntary work threatening I would be sanctioned. I had to work in the local RSPCA shop for 30 hours a week. It damn near killed me, but I got on with it.

Long term conditions = Support Group - I wish!

But won't there be breaks on these courses? When I was sent on a course when I was on the WP, we were given breaks.

Although, I can't understand why you're on JSA if you can't sit for long periods.
If you didn't find the WP helpful

I don't know anyone who found it useful. I didn't. I actually found it rather stressful. I didn't appreciated being treated like !!!! either. :( They then wondered why I signed off, went on to ESA and refused their offer of "help" getting back into work.

Sorry, rushed question. I mean, can you request a home visit, I seem to recall it being mentioned, or do you have to go to them?

Sometimes, yes. But you will need to get medical evidence to state why you can't get to a medical centre.

Does my fit note not explain that?

    no it doesn't.
all a fit note says is , that in your doctors opinion, you are too unwell to work.
to get a home visit your doctor will need to write a letter stating that to attend a WCA at any place apart from your home, would be detrimental to your health.
