OH has just rung to say They Are There and the kids didn't argue once in the car -they obviously save that just for when I'm driving:rolleyes:
I have:
washed kitchen floors, bathroom floor, loo floor
cleaned bathroom and loo
washed shower curtain and bath mat
decrumbed the sofas and set the cushions aright (where they will stay all week:D )
hoovered everywhere
cleaned, tidied and rearranged dd's room -looks lovely now
cleaned windows inside
cleaned fridge- looks very bare with only food for me in it
washed aload of towels
done a bit of ironing
bagged up a load of old clothes for charity
reorganised my linen cupboard
painted over dirty marks on walls
I feel virtuous and exhausted
I'm now having a cup of tea, then I'll have a shower veg out for a bit.0 -
Found the card, phew. Or rather walked onto it in the middle of the hallway
Changed the bedding, now about to do my bit for the environment and go fill up the recycling box.
Thx for the reminder about the bank holiday, I didn't realise - how many of the damned thing do we have each year? Seems like one a month!
Congrats on your new kitten, I'm sure it'll be a bundle of laughs and fun.

well finally got my garden bench. unfortunately I liked the dearest one they had.
It is mahogany, comfy and very sturdy. (well hopefully after mr dogrose builds it up) still it was in the sale
. chap said their sales are down with all the bad weather. Cant wait to be able to pop in to the garden with my coffee without dragging chairs out of the garage or sitting on the doorstep.
beautiful evening here...now if only I had my bench ready...x x x0 -
Hi Everyone
Bit late today, have been a cooking & baking demon all day as we are going to the yearly village bbq this evening so posh puddings all round..
Bought a burger press with 100 waxed discs for 3.50 bargin & have made 9 pork & apple burgers for about 2.50 where as I usually buy them from the butcher at 60p each. Am going to try veggie ones tommorrow as I have a glut of various veg in the garden..but no cougettes this year all my plants died v.strange.
Made butter for the first time in my new kenwood chef with the left over cream from the puddings...yum I will be scanning for reduced cream from now on.
Bought some fab boots bargins yesterday Naked Rose face wash was reduced to 2.50 so I bought three & still got the 1/2 price saving. Normally 3 would of cost me £14.07 paid £5.87 so saved £8.20 most pleased & means I have enough face wash to last me a good few months!
Right off for 30mins on the treadmill then shower & brush up for the bbq in the rain..oh joy. Rachelle:Tsimplicity is key0 -
Dia Dhibh!
Yes, we have our August bank holiday on the first Monday...your managers should be more up on things Snowy..it has never changed...enjoy your days off and your new kitty...would love to know how your other cats accept 'baby' as I wouldn't mind another cat but our old fella is a nervous wreck since the dog went last year and don't want to upset him.
It was a lovely morning here, had a phone call early from a neighbour who was trying to book flights on line and was getting tied up..they had never done it before. Got it sorted and then their printer wouldn't print and they were in a panic if they couldn't get the email printed out...flights not until November!
Went looking for bookshelves with DD4, found nothing she liked but bought two bedside lockers for DD2 whose birthday is tomorrow, he has a bed and built in wardrobe in his room but has bought nothing else since he moved in last year so hopefully he will be pleased.
Just crudites, houmous, salami, cheese and bread for lunch, hm pizza for dinner.
Knitting cardigan for DGD1 hope to have it finished to-morrow, not sure how it will turn out as doing it 'out of my head' couldn't find pattern when I wanted it so started anyway.
Hope that everyone has a lovely evening, no sitting out here, weather has deteriorated over the day. Hugs to all in need or want and congratulations to all who are celebrating.

Afternoon all
What a glorious day. We headed back to the beach today, stopped off to buy DD's body boards on the way. We've had a lovely day - DH has been in the sea and the girls have swam themselves into tiredness and have now been de-sanded - scrubbed and are now lounging on their beds watching tv.
Going to chuck the budget out the window for today and order a chinese later - somedays it just has to be done.
Did shove a bit of gammon in the SC yesterday whilst we were out so was able to use some of that for a picnic today. WM is just about to go on with all the sandy cossies.
Going to do Mr T's shop tomorrow and have a BBQ as it's supposed to be even hotter....need to stay out of the sun I think as we've all had 2 days of it.
Hope you all have a great evening."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Hi again,
Welcome Patwa. Always nice to see a new face.
Aussie you are troubled by BATS?   OMG how can you sleep each night?
Snowy I *loved* the Lovely Bones when I read it years ago. I believe its being made into a film at some point but I won't hold my breath waiting for it.
Amie and Catowen I was pleasantly surprised by Evan Almighty. It was better than I expected. No smut, which makes a change these days. Cat, I will plug on with the comps (when I remember). You will hear about any winnings.
mookybargirl the library is one of the biggest money-saving ideas for anyone addicted to books (like me). I took five books back today and have another four to read. There is just no way I could afford to buy that many books.
Thriftlady Enjoy the holiday and spoil yourself while you can. I missed my DS and DD terribly last week but still enjoyed having the peace and quiet to listen to MY music, watch MY films, read MY books, etc. I love having them back but we are back to watching *their* films, listening to *their* music, etc.
oddsnsods - I have been out and about since January.Only joking. You mentioned that you took Annie out today for the first time since January.
Got the lino and XDH picked it up for me. :j Just need a dry day so that I can take it outside and use the existing lino as a stencil for cutting round it. (A great tip I think for anyone replacing carpet or lino in a room.)
DS, DD and I made our own pizzas for dinner tonight. They couldn't believe how easy it was. And they are far better than the shop bought stuff.
Have a great Saturday night. How long is it since there was an OS Saturday night party??? I could manage one next w/e if anyone is up for it?
(((hugs))) to all. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

good evening
patwa - welcome to OS, glad your card turned up
JackieO - BOO!!! - can't wait to hear about the ghosthunting tonight!
Scorcher of a day here, far too hot for me at nearly 34 weeks, I was a bit grumpy to hubs it has to be said. But to be fair he has decided we "need" a new telly and won't stop harping on about it, with a year of crap maternity pay about to start its just a stupid time to shell out.
We spent the day in town, got lots of bits done, and had a nice picnic of M&S sandwiches as a treat :j Hubs did all kids stuff today - got them up, fed them breakfast and did tea and bedtime too so I can't complain really.
Tomorrow I am taking DS and his wee friend to a birthday party in the afternoon, but that's about it.
Have great Sundays all,

Thriftlady It comes across you're one happy little vegemite.
Annie The bats aren't near our house. They're in a mangrove swampy area not far and you can hear them during the night. Sometimes when you look out the window there are hundreds flying across the sky. Must be migrating seasonApparently we don't usually get them here. Think it's connected to the drought. Hopefully they won't stay long.
Snowy I hope you get Kitty today. What are you calling him/her?
Welcome to any newbies :wave:I'm sure you'll love it here.
Well hope you have a good night's sleep & I'll catch up with you on tomorrow's thread. :rolleyes:Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

As we are out at THE DO!! tomrrow I am cooking sunday supper tonight, prepped, carrots, spuds, courgette, and french beans, stuffing, apple and blackberry pie and custard...........we will have a cold chicken salad tomorrow at lunch time.
