Morning :hello:
Having a leisurely morningBeen watching bits of Saturday Kitchen in between having a shower/loading the WM etc.
Off to the Proms tonight and as it will be a popular concert and I want to be near the front (and I haven't got the energy to do much else), I'm going to head off soon and spend a lazy afternoon queueing in the sunshine on my camping chair with the Times jumbo crossword and a picnic
Have just applied Johnson's Holiday Skin for the third time - I soon realised that I shouldn't apply it daily (as the bottle recommends) as I'm so fair that it was going too dark to suit me. So I am compromising with once every two days. And thanks to ms_london for the recommendation about using latex gloves to avoid "tango-ing" my hands :T I picked some up at Morrison's the other day and have used them today.
tru - the third book is the best, IMHO!
Right, off to dry my hair...

Enjoying well deserved cup of tea as have cleaned all of the kitchen cupboard shelves, cleaned the inside of the fridge, washed the tiles, did the hand washing and a load for the washing machine and cleaned all of the bathroom. Was tempted to go to Sainsburys for some food but being OS and using up the store cupboard first so it's tuna and sweetcorn sandwiches with salad for lunch and bacon omlettes for dinner. As have worked hard cleaning this morning going to open a bottle of wine to go with lunch - got 6 as a gift so still one left. Hope everyone havng a productive weekend.MFW 91 op 2014 £410/1000

Gah, does fate just have it in for me or something? Everytime something good happens (rarely) something bad follows.
Well my new phone and contract from TMO arrived and duely registered and set up with T-Mobile. I then decided to write that two months overdue letter to Nationwide re false card transactions. All ready to go post, can't find my credit card (I'm one of those people that hate carrying around cash). Grrr. I had it in the back pocket of jeans yesterday with receipts, receipts are there but no card. Scuppered. Am holding off phoning Natwest to report it stolen just in case it miraculously turns up. It must have fallen out as I hung those jeans over the chair last night and put them on a hanger this morning.
Damn, oh well now I've no excuse to not get the DIY done seeing as there's nothing else to do.

Afternoon everyone
My first chance to get online today, hubby is watching the GP qualifier.
I now have to do all the thing today that I didn't get done yesterday, I'm still seething about spending 5 & half hours at work unpaid.
Today it's back to Ebay listing & sewing & looking after hubby.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester

Well I had a good morning not really OS but OH went to the library, I nipped into Boots to put in my prescription, then called in at New Look, I had seen a pair of gold sandels in the window, one pair left and MY SIZE!!!!! £12.....we then went and got fruit, I collected my script and then went into Bon Marche, came out with 2 tee shirts for £8, a pair of trousers and a skirt, all a decent length for me, not down to the ground as most of them are total £25.
As we are out at THE DO!! tomrrow I am cooking sunday supper tonight, prepped, carrots, spuds, courgette, and french beans, stuffing, apple and blackberry pie and custard...........we will have a cold chicken salad tomorrow at lunch time.
It has turned out quite warm, although there is quite a stiff breeze blowing...our plan to spend part of the winter in France are going apace.....OH seems very keen, and has been looking at routes etc......I have been looking at what we would have to take for a prolonged stay.......stretches the little grey cells somewhat..........September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

Welcome PATWA - I hope you enjoy it here!
THRIFTLADY - enjoy your freedom - I'm enjoying mine! The house has stayed so tidy and organised - lovely to come back to when you've been out! I think, after all the looking after we do, it makes a nice change to be able to do what you like, when you like and at your own pace.
ARIL - good to hear from you again and thanks very much for the link re the book; that will be perfect for DGS.
DANNAHAZ - & FTB Three - the annoying thing is, the people who have bought my books through Amazon NEVER say thank you! I just think it's rude not to acknowledge something like that, but I think it's the way things seem to be going nowadays and perhaps my expectations are too high. I always thank people when I have bought something - it lets them know for sure that I have received it. I always have a certificate of posting when I post so I know by default that it has got there. They'd soon bother emailing if I didn't send their purchase, wouldn't they? Rant over - again!
DS1, DIL and the grandchildren came back from their holiday on a farm in Wales yesterday; DGS had been sick on Thursday and there's nothing like you own bed when you're ill, is there? He's a lot better now and I have been invited round for tea this afternoon which will be lovely. I've rummaged through my present box for something to take for DGS and DGD - a wind- up stunt motorbike for him and stick-on sparkly earrings for her plus a big cardboard Wendy house that needs to be assembled and coloured-in which I'm sure will go down well with both of them; they can play with that in the garden. The weather is lovely here at the moment.
I've done my food shopping - not much, because it's only me and I have loads of HM 'ready-meals' in the freezerl DS2 came round this morning and we had a lovely chat and then I went to the gym so I feel as if I've accomplished quite a bit already today. Still haven't done the ironing - I wish it did itself! Will try and do it tomorrow!
Anyway, hope everyone is havng a lovely day in perfect weather. (((Hugs))) to KYLE'S LO.

Afternoon everyone.
Managed to chuck DH and the kids out to "play tennis" in the park.
DD has just got into the fake tan. Managed to catch her and clean her up. Won't know until later how successful I was - I got the brown off her, but that's really the guide colour not the fake tan stuff. Oh dear. It's also all over my horrid bedroom curtains. Shame - need to replace them. Maybe in a year or so, I'll get saving and drooling over fabric.
Right - brownies are beeping at me from the kitchen.

Afternoon all
abolutely lovely here so I'm oging to celebrate by putting some washing out. dd has picked up dgs - I swear that boy is an eating machine. he is v. tall for his age and comes up slightly underwieght for his height at the clinic - i have no idea why - he had two bowls of cereal, 3 "happles", a bowl of grated cheese, two slices of bread and butter and lots of "lubberly cack". "lubberly cack" turned out to be the blueberry mufifns that I made last night and he has had four of them! DD went to the birthday party and has gone round to another friend's for a couple of hours when she is supposed to be helping me pack for camping tomorrow. i ought ot be making the most of being home alone to pack and clean but unfortunately my new sock yarn arrived today so ..........
have a good day

Hello everyone
I'm having the laziest of Saturdays ever...I've done nothing but read all day (oh and have had a shower, a cuddle with the kitties and three breakfasts:o). Yesterday I bought some books, an Anne Tyler and a Jodi Picoult, and also Lovely Bones which I am totally hooked on. The housework will get a battering later on - I need to do a load or two of washing, a bit of cleaning around and tidying up - well, you know all the usual stuff. Luckily I have Monday and Tuesday off wo*k so won't be in any hurry. I found out that monday is a bank holiday in Eire - working in retail on the north side of the Irish border bank holidays are absolutely manic as people come in their droves to stock up. Oh how I laughed when I realised it was a bank holiday and the shop hadn't planned for it... They have been begging cashiers to come in on Monday as they won't be able to cope. They make their own problems, they really do - I had asked a manager to allocate two days holiday to me as the days I really wanted were all full, and she picked one of their busiest days of the year:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:for me.
Hopefully today I will be picking up my new kitten. She was supposed to have arrived yesterday, but her current keeper went out last night and so that arrangement fell through. It's also my friend's son's 13th birthday. I want to get him something for it, but I have never in my whole entire life ever bought a present for a 13 year old boy, and I haven't got a clue what to get. I have an inkling that cold hard cash would be better than any present though, so might just pad his card with a couple of notes instead.
That's all the goings on in SnowyOwlVille today, not what you'd call exciting is it...
Bye for now.
