Alex. You can cook for 9 people in your house.

    Wholeheartedly agree with SHS.

If your dining table can't seat 9 , you could set up a separate table for the younger ones - they will love that,
then you have just the adults at your dining table, or squeeze everyone round.

Another idea is someone brings starters or wine, the other a dessert or wine, leaving you with just the main course to cook.

It will all work out fine, just don't eat too many easter eggs before your dinner :rotfl:

Alex, is it a relatively straightforward matter to replace the valve stem on a car wheel?

    OSPREYS - CHECK. Checked!
PLAN EASTER HOLIDAY Things are going to be quiet until after the bank holiday but we not have a few plans foe next week. My wife is home from tomorrow evening until Monday 24th.
Make a decision re. bathroom / holiday / potential debt. My wife still wants to go to France in the summer and we have a timeline for the bathroom set up. Mrs. K. has refused to let me buy the £3,500 wash basin. :( Still want Frankenshower/bath but there's also a veto on that... though that one item would cost more than the budget for the whole project.

Does anyone have any experience with Heritage Bathrooms or Silverdale Bathrooms? An online company is doing Heritage Granley range as a complete suite for £3,349. The Silverdale option comes in at just under £4,000 but that is to include a £1,250 basin. Both include everything but the separate shower unit.

    Total Grocery Spend: £140/ £400.
    Surplus Money: / £800.
Bed before 11.30pm: 4 / 31. This illustrates my terrible sleeping habits to me. :o
    Meditation: 5 / 31.
    De-clutter and sell / 5 items.
    New Recipes: / 4.
Books (to read for pleasure): / 3.
3 Things for Wednesday: 1. Go on a long walk with my son, Achieved. 2. Remember it is a new day and a new opportunity, Not much of an opportunity when ill.3. Get everything done on the to-do list. :rotfl: I'll blame this on being ill.

I would like everyone to be comfortable. :)

I could set up the table in the music room for the children, there would be a chair that doesn't match the others, though.

My son and I are making dessert in advance. Parents-in-law are providing drinks which probably means one bottle of red and one bottle of white - they don't drink much and seem to think everyone else is happy to have just a sip which suits me these days.

:rotfl: Cannot promise that, AFK. ;)

A tyre place will do it for a few pounds. :) If you're having new tyres fitted, they should replace as part of the job.

Oh Alex only you could worry about having one chair not matching! :rotfl:

I've cooked for 30+ (my husband has a massive family) by making several lasagnes or chilli or beef in red wine. People just found somewhere to sit throughout the house. I've sat 10 by putting 2 tables together. I'd still favour a casserole style meal though.

That was my first thought too. Bless your heart, Alex :)

Absolutely. I'm having 10 people (including me) for dinner on Sunday, I do it regularly, I bet my house is smaller than yours. ;)

(Now admittedly, I won't be cooking, as I'm working all morning, but my mum and sister in law won't have any problems I'm sure! :rotfl:)

Enjoy it, its lovely watching your family relax and enjoy themselves in your home.

I couldn't deal with that, maman.

Must admit I'm somewhat apprehensive about the whole thing, to be honest. My in-laws visited this evening as they'd been somewhere not so far from here. Son was pleased to see them. :) Mrs K showed them the plans for the bathroom project. Father-in-law said something about it being "about time" and was joking about the current set up. Next thing he said was something along the lines of what are we doing about the rest of the place? Couldn't help but be a little insulted and ashamed.

I offered to host Easter at my parents' house for their comfort, he thought this hilarious and started mocking his "personal invite to 'Chatsworth House'", my parents' expectations of the house being passed on as well as my fondness of the place.

We will be eating inside. Perhaps an outside BBQ would've been a better option but it's too late now.

Do you have a table that seats 10? Our dining table seats 6 and the 3 children will have to go into the music room to eat at the table I usually use for theory. There's two chairs in there which match the dining chairs but one will have to be taken from the study as we've a set of 8 chairs. I have considered borrowing my parents' dining chairs (moving the table is a no-go) but have no doubt I'll be mocked for that.

My family is not coming, it's my in-laws visiting. My parents are away.

On Christmas day we sit on an assortment of camping chairs, footstools and kitchen chairs (and one year, a small step ladder!), none of us mind.

At one point we had to have a children's table in one room and an adults table in another, again, nothing really matched much.

It's a family meal, don't overthink it, just enjoy it.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
