Classic anglo-centric thinking.
You do not seriously think that custard is at all well known outside the English speaking world, do you..?
Most of Eastern Europe, for example, has never heard of it.0 -

Maybe it's just me, but I love the irony of accusing someone of "Anglo-centric thinking" when you're taking custard powder overseas (whether or not for "personal use only officer").
To answer your question, it should be fine, though might be interesting explaining what it is, in the unlikely event you are stopped by customs.
Thanks for making me smile.

I can't stop thinking about Peter Kay's dad "it's coffemate" "I am not your mate and coffee is brown"0

Any kind of finely divided powders can give customs/security the heebie-jeebies these days.
It was a long time ago when I rocked-up at Heathrow with several bags of fine pottery glaze in my hand luggage and customs gave me the full-treatment then. I hate to think what would hapen to me now!
Still, examples of pottery made with that glaze now reside in the V&A, so I suppose my ordeal-by customs was worthwile?
