Yours Mr Fouronenine0 -
recently returned from trip to spain
with british airways but got scammed
and ripped off at the airport flying
out the airport was gatwick.
we checked in using the online check
in then at the airoir were able to go
straight to the lounge and plane.
when we arrived at the airport we
bought some bottled water from a
shop in the terminal then we fouind
we had to use security and were told
that no water was allowed as it was a
liquid. even thouh we checked in on-
line we still got told no liquid or water
over 100ml and had to throw two very
expensive bottles of water away.
makes you think how much money
they make selling water to people
who dont know about the stupid
rules. feel scammed and am going
to complain. they do no warn you
when you check in,
what a complete numpty :rotfl::rotfl:
how do you think you were scammed by British airways?
it has already been pointed out that BA have nothing to do with gatwick airport, and the fact that you dont know the rules is your fault and nobody else's
complain all you like and you will make yourself look more of an idiot than you already do0 -

The really big scam is persuading people to pay for bottled water when the stuff in the tap is actually of higher quality and is effectively free. All the bars and food outlets within the airport are obliged to give you tap water without charge: just ask politely.0 -

Allow me to condense that block of text.Unaware of common airport protocol in place for many years, I bought some overpriced water that I had to throw away.
I would rather blame British Airways rather than myself.
I also don't understand how you seem to think that you can bypass security because you checked on on-line.0 -
You should have read up on what you can and can't do. Its been common for a while you can't take water past security, there's no scam about it. I'm sure there's signs when queueing up when waiting in the queue saying no liquids past this point. Only have yourself to blame.
Welcome to MSE.0 -
This has reminded me of something that happened when I came back from holiday last month. After passing through security I opened my handbag to get something out and discovered a half full bottle of water that I'd started drinking earlier in the day.
I'd been meaning to throw it away before going through security but it completely slipped my mind, and either the scanner didn't pick it up or the airport security staff on duty that day just didn't care
It made me wonder how many people do manage to sneak water and other forbidden things through.0 -

Without stating the obvious, in that British Airways DONT sell water, nor own an airport. I have not flown SINCE before 9\11, yet am fully aware of the bottle ban on airlines.
You might be shocked to know you also need a passport and an airline ticket when flying.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
