british airways scam

Options
recently returned from trip to spain
with british airways but got scammed
and ripped off at the airport flying
out the airport was gatwick.
we checked in using the online check
in then at the airoir were able to go
straight to the lounge and plane.
when we arrived at the airport we
bought some bottled water from a
shop in the terminal then we fouind
we had to use security and were told
that no water was allowed as it was a
liquid. even thouh we checked in on-
line we still got told no liquid or water
over 100ml and had to throw two very
expensive bottles of water away.
makes you think how much money
they make selling water to people
who dont know about the stupid
rules. feel scammed and am going
to complain. they do no warn you
when you check in,

How is that a scam? It's common knowledge that you can't take liquids through security, if you'd waited and bought your water on the other side there wouldn't have been a problem.

I take it you don't fly often? This is not a scam, nor is it anything to do with BA.

British airways do NOT run Gatwick and if you have been alive since 9/11 you might have realised that no liquids are allowed in secure areas unless screened,
PS had you flown since 9//11 you would probably have passed bins full of liquids that other equally stupid people had to dump.
PPS how expensive were the water bottles.
Probably less than the price of a pint

Op no matter how you check in you have to go through security.... Common sense really. This was obviously your first flight since 9/11 otherwise you would of known, maybe it's time to read the rules before you take another flight.

You had to go through security at an airport ??????

    Shocking.

BA don't own or run Gatwick
All airports worldwide have a liquids ban when crossing through security to airside and have since 2011 (you may recall an event known as 9-11 involving several aircraft and two towers)

So either you've never flown before or have never attempted to carry liquids through airport security before -but either way No scam and nothing to do with BA.

Still at least you know for next time :)

On-line check in just means you go straight to security bypassing the check in desk at the airport -it doesn't mean you bypass security .

9-11 was 2001 not 2011. However the liquid ban has nothing todo with 9-11.

The liquid ban came into force after the 2006 liquid bomb plot http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_transatlantic_aircraft_plot

Usually a sign of copy/paste TBH, and from a first-timer, weekend, content, blaming wrong company, etc - hardly suggests the OP is a genuine poster.
