lol I know what you mean about the people behind! They always look amazed!! And the other day I had a young lad scanned £20 of cou[pons, and whas he was finishing this stern old bag came up, and I thought uh oh. She appeared to be watching me (paranoia methinks)
anyway lad came off, old bag came on. I caught him just in time. Imagine if he'd gone off after serving the one before me??? It could have all been so different! It's just the luck of the draw I guess. Or if I'd waited another 2 minutes to go to till, cos I'd been "checking them out" and thinking not one "looked right" till i spotted him and zoomed in quickly he'd have gone!

That has happened to me so many times, I am sure it is fate!

Only last week I had the same scenario as you, went to a bored looking young lad and he was brilliant, scanned everything I gave him. This is in a store that has a 10% policy if you ask a supervisor or CS, but if you just hand them over to the sa's, nine times out of ten they will scan them for you without any trouble.
Anyway, I had two lots of shopping on the belt and the first lot was tucked safely in the trolley and he started scanning the 2nd lot, along comes a very middle aged lady who did not look in a good mood at all  she watched him scanning everything and my heart was in my mouth the whole time. I passed the Hb vouchers across and she watched that, I still had about £14 to pay (which I never do!) so had to pass multiple moc's to him to get it down to my more normal £2ish total. She didn't look round once while I passed him the vouchers or moc's, she was intent on watching what he was doing, the stress of standing there while she watched nearly killed me!

It does make me think though how different some of my experiences would have been if I was only a few minutes earlier or later.

So many times I have just scraped a shop through and then the sa was due a break so it changed to a non happy scanner for the person behind me, someone up there must like me :D
Stopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!

    Smoke free days = 11 Years :T
Cash saved so far = £125,45,11

    Hi,

I only did 1 H&B today as I couldn't think of anything that I don't already have too much of!

Got Palmolive bath creme ,radox shower gel(bogof took off £1.98) and a relaxing radox bath foam.

Found a SA i had used before and he took all my Coupons and MOCs.

    You're going to love this....OH came home with a £1 H&B he'd got from somewhere (wasn't really listening - too excited!) and off I went.....a few bits plus 8 x Radox. Handed over a £2.50 H&C & the £1 and she says

"Sorry, I cannot take this because you have not bought the items in the picture"

"EH? It says toiletry - it doesn't have to be the exact items in the pic"

"OH...ok....but you have not bought toiletry"

"Erm....8 bottles of Radox shower gel???????"

    "No"...she said..."This is cleaning products".

Oh gawd, I thought....here we go.....but just smiled sweetly and asked her to try scanning them anyway, which she thankfully did! Freebird's Mum has enough shower gel till Christmas now! :-)

aarrggghhhhh - for ages I've been saying to my Mum how I can never find these H&B leaflets in store and if she ever sees them to grab them.....last night she digs in her bag and says "Oh - I've had these for ages but kept forgetting"......6 x £2.50 H&Bs!!! She's used the rest.

Help - can someone tell me the best way to use these? I don't have any £1 H&Bs or any quits.

I'd hate them to go to waste! :D
    You could get

    7 Nicky Clarke shampoo and 7 conditioner = 59.85
    Basic toothpaste = 0.21

    less NC BOGOF = (38.43)

    less coupons = (15.00)

    To pay = 6.63

    or

    40 Radox = 59.20
    Something worth 80p

    less Radox BOGOF = (39.60)

    less coupons = (15.00)

    To pay = 5.40

    or mix the two:-

    4 Nicky Clarke shampoo and 4 conditioner = 34.20
    18 Radox = 26.64

    less NC BOGOF = (21.96)
    less Radox BOGOF = (17.82)

    less coupons = (15.00)

    To pay = 6.06

    :)

Freebird's Mum has enough shower gel till Christmas now! :-)

Emmmmmmmmmm my calculations earlier were right then, Ive also got enough till Christmas..........................................Christmas 2032 that is.

Had some good no padded shops tonight, 6 Loaded(glitch is even better off £1.69 Shower gels), 2 Dove Summer Glows and the usual 14 Radox...actually emptied the shelves in one store of Radox....then 6 Loaded, 6 Head inc Shower gels, 14 radox for 5p.... did this a few times.....

Had 60 HB £2.50's left Sunday...only got about 10 now...never ever thought i'd shift over 220, looks as though i may be begging for more etc, by end of week......didnt leave one shop on the belt tonight...in one store, there was only me, 4 cashiers a supervisor and a security guard...used 3 of the cashiers, talked with the supervisor, and asked the security guard if he knew where there were any Quit Packs...he didnt........this store must have an "accept anything" policy, as i've never had any bother at all here, RnRed some nice phones here as well(last year), but had confrontation with manager once, who refused to give me my RandRed coke.....his reason...he didnt want to.... as i was known to HO at this time, and already had 7 x 24 cases in boot of car, decided to let it go.....but did get 4 packs of duracell batteries off him....
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

Do you guys use the little Tesco Expresses? I've just checked two out and they've got jack on the old bogoff front. Looks like I'll just have to stick to cleaning out the big uns! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
