Did a variation of this today bought 2 seven seas jointcare advanced £8.31
bogof so thought no need to buy the paracetomol. Tried to use 2 x £2 quit and 4x £1 peach H&B leaving 31p to pay.
Didn't work only took 2x£2 quits and 2x1 H&B despite the cashier trying 3 times.
Good news worked out why and got success with same guy 10 minutes later.
Solution it will only take each different coupon for number of items bought so need 4 items for 4 of the same coupon to be accepted like the 50 pointers.

Hope this is helpful as don't think I have seen this posted before.

I'll just about learn all the tricks and then it will be all over.
Its because you've bought all healthcare NOT toiletries or beauty stuff(If you go onto tesco.com and look in groceries you can see what things are listed under what catergries), and Im pretty certain that this thing of 4 items per 4 coupons is rubbish too, I've bought only a few beauty and toiletries and had ALOT of coupons taken off.
  • Hello all, not been couponing for a while but went today and am a little confused:

2 x Nivea shower gel (toiletries) 1.79 BOGOF
    Aquafresh 65p (toiletries)
    2 x dove handcream (beauty ) 1.89 BOGOF
    2 x cotton wool (beauty) £1.29 each

    Till excepted
    £1.25 quit x2
    £2.50 SB
    £2.50 HB
    40p toothpaste
But refused £1 toiletries (x2) from HB - I thought I'd covered the spend and mixed them in with other coupons - not disappointed too much just confused.

    Got some other great bargins
    knex sets (party present) 74p
    Spiderman puzzles 70pish
    lolly moulds 12p

They had loads of toys/BtoSchool they were putting out reduced

    Hi Dustykitten,
I think its because the £1 H&B's are for toiletry only and you had a mix of toiletries and beauty......HTH:beer:
If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

    My way is Atkins;)

Although she did spend over £4 on toiletries (Nivea & Aquafresh) so surely the till should've accepted 1 x £1 HB?

I did buy all healthcare and used £2 off £8 healthcare from Quits and £1 off £4 healthcare from H&B leaflets so was definately using the correct coupons. The till would only take the extra 2 £1 off £4 healthcare when I bought 2 extra healthcare items being cheap asprins. For the sake of 32p I'll continue to use this combination in the future. They don't take healthcare back if you buy by mistake do they?

thanks disco but I have never even heard of medinol, is it still paracetamol?
I use childs ibuprofen on my son too! Is that ok? You have scared me now!
I normally use own brands paracetamol like tesco or asda, never actually calpol itself but I guess its all the same stuff!

Yes it is paracetamol, and yes most other paracetamols contain aspartame. I have found medinol to be the only one that doesnt. There is one for under six and one for over six. That said I think you can give the tablet form from about 8, I must check, now my son is nine.

My doc gives me a prescription for paracetamol and I just ask my chemist for medinol as i refuse to give my child dangerous chemicals. Only thing is, there are parabens in medinaol, but I feel it is still thwe better option.

Why oh why we put all these chemicals into stuff that is meant to make our kids better i really do not know.

As an adage, aspartame is in almost ALL kids drinks. Check the labels. The only coke that doesnt contain it is brand named cocacola and pepsi cola ( not the diet vatieties, they DO contain it)
Most cordial drinks contain it, last i saw only robinsons high juice and blue parrot didnt. capri sun sachets are ok, as are most five alives.
All sugar free drinks contain it obviously. All stores own brand fizzy drinks contain it. 7 up does not, but 7 up diet does obviously. Just check labels on any drinks you buy for aspartame asefulcame k. if it contains either, avoid it like the plague! HTH DD

I`ve been to 5 differerent stores now and can`t find these vouchers anywhere has anyone in Essex found any?

Roneo Corner seems to have them on a Wednesday/Thursday, a Beauty Consultant hands them out one at a time - as there are 5 girls in our family, I asked her if I could have a few more and got 4! Wombled a few from trollys outside, and occasionally they have a few on the pharmacy counter well guarded. Never found any at Gallows Corner.

It infuriates me that this isn't more widely know. I take hours grocery shopping because I read the labels on practically everything I buy. Some parents think they are doing a good thing by giving their kids a drink that says 'sugar free' yet the list of crap that is in them is unbeliveable. I would much rather my dd have a limited 'natural' sugar intake than all these man made chemicals. We will only see the effects when the damage has been done.

Back onto H&B now... had a disaterous shop yesterday :(

If my usual happy scanners are not in I usually do my shopping in 2 lots on the belt. First lot I do a small £10 H&B and an £8 H/C. I use my cc and usually try and have a couple of points coupons on the top, I find that most cashiers will take the points coupons no probs and then bung all the H&B behind them. If this trial run goes ok then next on the belt (usually says it's my mum's) I have a £20 H&B and a £16 H/C. I put all the toiletries etc together at the back of the belt so if they dont accept my coupons in first shop I just tell them i overspent and don't want the toiletries in the next load. I Use a paper cc and throw in a load of extra moc's.

Yesterday I chose a nicer young looking lad... got chatting.. was first day on job, was very friendly to him and thought I would do alright. Half way through 2 supervisors came over asked him to come off till to read a memo so a middle aged sour faced woman took over. I was praying he would hurry up and finish the memo in time but NO!!! She started scanning the coupons and I thought I'd be ok, then she stopped.... and said 'right you cant have anymore your at 10% now. I said last time I was told as long as the till takes them then they are ok. I even tried to explain that £2.50 off a £10 shop was more than 10% on just one coupon but she was having none of it.

Told her I didn't want the toiletries in the next load and just bought the other stuff I had on there but she wouldnt take any mocs cos I hadn't bought the product. I was sooooooooo upset. In hindsight I think that the extras that I put on to cover the extra mocs in my 2nd shop will be non essentials then I can just leave the whole load behind without having to pay any extra cash.

After last week's fiasco with forgetting all my coupons I feel like I'm loosing my coupon mojo!!!! Ah well, gotta get back on the horse, will try again on Wed when my fave happy scanner is on, will hopefully make up for it then.
