You could try Evening Primrose Oil or Starflower Oil capsules - they are meant to be swallowed, but just !!!!! open the outer casing and spread the oil on your face. They are effective - well for me anyway! and can be bought cheaply.

ps. Simple products don't suit me either (and several other people I know)

It sounds like your using some "formulation" with lots of chemicals in it rather than a simple solution such as an oil. They don't have to have ANY chemicals in them, it's not necessary for organic oils. Chemicals only benefit the companies that make them so that they last a long time on the shelves. Avoid that rubbish and you might find that things work better. If there is anything more than 2 ingredients then put it back or ignore it! There only needs to be one ingredient for organic oils.

As I have already suggested, find a source for very small samples of oils and try a few. Read up on a few oils to see what sounds appropriate and then give them a try. As I mentioned, Rosehip oil is said to cause spots according to what I have read online but it worked the best of anything I have tried and did not cause me any spots. Just very nourishing and softening on my skin. However you might be different and require something else.

Just like everything else in existence organic oils are made of chemicals.

OP, have you tried using a cream cleanser? They are often good for dry skin as you don't need to then rinse them off.
