BT Don't Care About Abusive Scam Phone Call 0019562797836

Been getting a load of calls from 0019562797836. Usually miss the calls, but answered it this morning.
I could hear an American woman's accent & an Asian male spoke amid a load of background noise. Basically they wanted to 'fix my computer' as they had detected a fault on it. When I said I knew they were scamming, they became eye watering abusive - the language was very bad - I'm not a prude, but it was really nasty stuff.
Phoned BT - Spent over 40 mins waiting for an operator, spoke with a JJ in Calcutta who couldn't understand my accent! After a while I asked to speak to her manager - none was available.I asked for a complaint number, but feel it was made up on the spot.
JJ didn't even ask for details just kept saying it hadn't come from BT. Just wasted a load of time.
Now surely BT could do something about this. I feel that the company just don't give two figs at all.
Really hacked off at this.

I don't give my landline number out - I think they are random dialling.
They actually want your passwords = I think they are hackers & want to do screen shots.0 -
Its not BT that's phoning you and its not their job to monitor your calls and decide if you don't want them or not .
A Tip use the BT Live Chat to type and get replies in English its easier .
BT8500 phone will block them .0 -

I typed the number into google & it's a scam that is random dialing.
Surely they could be shut down.
I was not given any advice in how to deal with it. I don't expect anyone to monitor my calls -= certainly never would want that at all - don't know where you got that idea froml.
I just think that it should be a concern for BT but seems that it's just the way things are run these days.0 -
The fault lies with the caller, BT merely provide you with a line. You can buy a phone blocker to help stop these calls, but BT cannot do anything about the calls you get.
Its no different to TPS being unable to stop calls coming from outside the UK.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
