I've had to many dances going through my head Burtha since posting all the ones where someone dragged you into line . Mind you dancing was better than working . I must admit I loved and still do YMCA some things never leave us .
Sorry Mar Should have said buns not bins , unless you need them more than buns of course .

  • Good idea to scrub that elephant and make sure he's clean as we may need his services when President Trump comes on the state visit later this year. The news feed has an article saying Mr trump is insisting on getting a ride in the Golden State Coach but the security forces aren't happy because the coach isn't fully armoured and bullet proof. We may have to gold plate the elephant and sail the Pres down the Mall in the basket which will be by then fully armoured and unassailable except perhaps by the elephant! I wish I didn't have the kind of imagination that could 'see' this happening but I do and it's ................

Oh great... I started thinking of dances with weird moves and now I have "Ooops Upside Your Head" on the mental jukebox.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

Good job you didn't fly the elephant up here, he would have ended up in Greenland it's been so windy. And, the hailstones would have hurt his eyes!

HH - Do you actually have a proper WM on the boat?

Wish you would all stop suggesting songs, they stick in my head!

Yes Camelot I have a very dinky 3.5k Candy Aquamatic, it has a 30 minute cycle which means a trip between 2 locks gives us enough time to do a wash cycle, I'll post pics of it on my blog.
Today has been much warmer and we have made it all the way to Beale Park moorings, we've navigated Culham, Clifton, Days, Benson, Cleeve and Goring locks.
Tomorrow we'll be in Pangbourne Meadows and I will go to the Co-op there to buy a few bits and pieces as I know where the shops are.
    Chin up, Titus out.

Lyn A certain Potus is getting nowhere near our elephant . The idea makes me shudder . Besides what would Terry say ? I so wish he was still around now his Interesting Times have arrived , what a book he would write .

Mar I give up . I can understand if the cat was threatened or a long and difficult knitting project was about to be ripped off the needles but flippin' cake . Reminds me of Marie Antionette .

Burtha - Not - for hey , ho rock n roll . Which then morphed in my head to Rick Rollin' and we all know how that ends up!

Thanks not to McC for that one . BTW the bothy book I mentioned isn't by the author of the hermit book . I enjoyed his book about Sandy but the proof reader in me kept picking up on little things .
Pot, Kettle .Black but the arthritic fingers and lack of my own proof reader are my excuse .

Do Not Try This At Home If Of An Older Vintage !
Someone , well me then forever in search of " The Girl Who Used To Be Me " as sung in the Shirley Valentine film decided to revisit the dances of her life .
As a child in the 50s Saturday mornings were Irish dancing lessons as was common in Irish Immigrant families . After posting earlier I decided to do any Irish dance . I chose my favourite Irish hornpipe , if you aren't familiar with it google Michael Flatley and look for the stiff upper body and flying feet . I'm still on auto and step perfect but oh my goodness the agony .
I had a go at the mashed potato and others , then YMCA and Time Warp .
I think I know why my little grey cells fail me from time to time . I 've spent my life shaking my head with attitude except for the stiff hornpipe with a lot of stamping hence the taps on the shoes.
So "The Girl Who Used To Be Me" still knows the moves but the body doesn't like it it . As much as possible I still write all the words to my song but will hand the dancing to the younger leaners on this fence .
Off to watch Casualty , unless I end up there !
