Ivyleaf. Yes, visiting hospitals on the mainland is expensive and time consuming but that is one of the prices that we pay for living in this lovely place. There are all sorts of arrangements made for various circumstances which I'm not sure about, never having had to use them. For instance, if someone has to have daily treatment over on the mainland they are sometimes put up in a hotel over there.
TPTB are always threatening to downgrade the hospital and move more treatments to one of the big hospitals.
It's a threat that rumbles on and off continually.

After 2 beautiful days it's pouring cats and dogs this morning. Our particular dogs had to be forced outside. They stood in the doorway with a "you must be joking" expression on their faces.

I have crept back to bed.

Hester: I'm so glad that I haven't had to spring you from the local nick.

Nice sunny day here but ohhh so cold. My biker son arrived for a visit and he was visibly blue with cold when he came in. Just had to wave bye to him off up that road again and wishing he would give in an buy a car... he is 45 now, never had or wanted a car but I think maybe he's getting tired of winter biking now.

No Monna I had only been up 10 hours. I now have to push it back round to days. Will do it in two to three hour segments.

I was thinking of if you lose it, not now, with you hospital. Labour is one of those things that can change in minutes and you just have to be in a safe place not at home. Sorry you had a nightmare.

I saw some coats Wednesday for only £5.

Monna Your dogs this morning reminded me of when we were in Singapore back in the 60s. It was the worst monsoon we had while we were there, it does not always come, we had tried to get the dog to go out in the rain but it was raining the worlds cats and dogs.

Around 4am on the 5th day there was this most awful screaming coming from the dog. I let her out and she was gone about ten minutes just for a P. She can't have been for over 4 days. She never refused to go in the rain again. It was her first monsoon she was only two and we had not had one the year before.

If I could have recorded that scream I think I could have sold it to Hollywood for a fortune. I have never heard anything like it. It was a series of long blood curdling screams you would not have believed could have come from a dog.

We have the paperwork through to sign for the boat, she will be officially ours from Wednesday, she was renamed when she was out of the water being blacked, she is now called Apostrophe, it's a long story but we wanted a unique name and my beloved is a Frank Zappa fan and his favourite album is apostrophe. She is currently moored in Northamptonshire and we are in Berkshire, we will be bringing her home over the Easter holidays. I will post a list of our mooring places and approximate timings if anyone wants to see us.
    Chin up, Titus out.

Will be keeping a look out for you Hester! Love the name too. My new engine has been fitted so now it's all hands on deck to get her shipshape & ready for lift in at the beginning of April.
Monna when I was having radiotherapy there was a contingent of gentlemen from the IoW who were all receiving their treatment in a group.I always enjoyed their company as they were such a cheerfuland positive bunch.
Been to Aunt's funeral today - they had to wait 5 weeks for a slot at the crematorium. In spite of that it was a lovely ceremony with personal readings etc from family members. It was hammering it down on the way there - lots of spray on the road but it cleared by the time we got through the Dartford tunnel and stayed dry until tonight when we were nearly home. Tiring day so I think I'll join NM and Monna for an early night.
