Yet another discussion with knickerless neighbour re fence repairs, she's not happy that some of the old fence has been repaired and some has been replaced, until the wood weathers in the slats aren't all the same colour. I ended up telling her to F O and shut the door in her face.
    !

Good for you. What the blazes has your fence got to do with the silly moo  Some people go out of their way to cause issues where there are none. So well done for telling her to F O..that's the least she deserved imo!

nursemaggie Glad you've been changed to the afternoon clinic :T
And I know it probably won't make you feel any better about your own new bedroom curtains, but the ones I bought well over a year ago are still in their packaging, along with the lovely new curtain pole; and the offcut of vinyl flooring I bought for the bathroom in September 2015 (I came across the receipt when Kondo-ing recently) is still rolled up and stood in the corner of the hall by the front door.

Thanksivyleaf I have been for my physio today. Was not so bad. Has set off my back ache. Will be better when pain killers kick in. We are going to Ald! in a few minutes so you tell I am not so exhausted today as I expected.

I also got a big surprise too, I can get a free pass to go swimming every morning after 9.30am and any exercise class I wish too. I have to pay in school holidays. So she says as long as I go gentle it will be good for my back and my arthritis.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with long standing DIY to be done. You need to ask your DS or DGS to do yours. I daren't get on a step ladder these days with a big box in my hands or I could get the curtains up and the box put on top of my wardrobe myself.

My old curtains need to come down and the new ones go up. If you had a little more outstanding I would suggest they had a race. When my DS has done I will buy him some shelves for his room.

Good news on the swimming nursemaggie.

I've just got my hospital appointments through for next week - 8.30am pre-op assessment and then a 7.45am turn up for the morning surgical list later in the week. Luckily I can drive to the first one. Unfortunately I can't drive to the second one as I won't be able to drive back after a general anaesthetic...

I dread the day either of us need a hospital visit if the RV can't drive. Hosp is 20 miles away, there is only one bus an hour out of this village, then need to change to another bus that goes right to the hosp.
This morning I had a doctor's appt at 8.20 to test my sodium & potassium levels which have been a bit off. I'm like the living dead before 11am, so I crawled into the car and then into the surgery with my eyeballs frizzling and bare nerve-ends screaming... Sat there until 9am and then the doctor came out of her office, walked past us all waiting and out of the door, with her wee bag. Then the receptionist came in and said unfortunately the doc had been called out on an emergency and they didn't know how long she would be :mad:
Meanwhile I could see the senior partner gp sat in the back room drinking coffee and laughing with the pharmacist. I got up and stalked off, with the receptionist running after me offering to rebook me. I said nevermind forget it. I am not usually rude but honest to god how can you be running 40 mins late before 9am? And then if one doc gets called out then why doesn't the other one step in and take the people waiting, instead of hiding through the back drinking coffee?? They just don't care.

Mar I would consider writing a firm email to the practise manager about that...

    I agree Mar I would.

I would think they will offer you transport if the RV can't drive. You will probably go round all the farms though. I am surprised you are nearer to the hospital than me, two that I go to are both over 30 miles. If I decide to take the bus that takes me within half a mile of the Christie I think I will probably travel 150 each way. It goes through about 8 towns and as many suburbs of Manchester.

To be honest I am more bothered about needing the loo than the length of the journey. I will also be awfully stiff after 3 1/2 hours sat down.

It's really dreadful that when you are feeling I'll and wretched you have to jump through all these hoops to get the treatment you need. However, if that is what you have to do to get the best treatment possible then there is no decision to be made, is there. We are fighting to keep our hospital on the Island. It is a bit like the old cottage hospitals in that it does minor surgery, maternity and A&E. For anything else it means a ferry trip to Southampton or Portsmouth.

Here DS2 and Pickle have returned until DIL's mother's funeral next Wednesday.
Apparently Pickle was in fine form keeping everyone entertained.

Was it Greenbee who said that her niece said they wouldn't need to lay as many places at the table now Grandad had died?
    Well Pickle did something similar.
    First conversation -
"Gramps, when are you getting that bed out of the living room?"
    "Mmmm. I'm not sure."
"Well, Grandma won't need it now. She's dead."

    Second conversation.
    "Do you miss Grandma, Gramps?"
    "Yes. Very much."
"Well, you'll see her next week at the funeral."

And to think that we agonized about how to break the news to her.

Kids are funny :) They knew Grandpa was in the coffin. When we went back to the church at Christmas my nephew wanted to know where Grandpa was - he obviously thought we were leaving him there. My niece was also concerned that although Grandpa was wearing his sailing clothes in the coffin, we'd forgotten to put his life jacket in...

Nurse Maggie I agree about hospital transport, it really doesn't work. We live 15 minutes by car from our hospital but it takes about an hour and a half by bus and wheelchairs don't do well on city centre buses.

The Christie is amazing but no wonder you are exhausted. We have just found out one of Hubbys hospitals is being 'de-commissioned' Its the furthest we travel to but its our favourite and most helpful specialist we have for him. I just worry about all the people who will now be without a hospital locally.

Monna bless you my dear for training the pup. I know it will be of benefit for you mostly but I do hope the family join in and keep it up.

Pollyana how lovely of you to have a look at Dgs's school. He is certainly blossoming there. He is now letting everyone know that he can read everything he see's - we knew but he hadn't shared the secret. Today he is coping with world book day, before it was a noisy day which stressed him. So he is learning that he can join in for a while and wear ear defenders if he wants or go to the quiet space when he is done. We had a few words off him this morning and he pointed the hair brush at me to make his point :) but soon defused.

Mar, good job they weren't doing your blood pressure too because it would be off the chart. You really need to e mail as Floss said as you need to be checked until all your meds are balanced.
