I find Phenergan is magic. Doesn't knock me out like a light but when I get to sleep then I stay asleep.0

I once gave Phenergan to the children when we had a long journey to endure. Great at the start but when it wore off there were 3 tornados in the back of the car. Never again!0

Lol Camelot, I was told by my HV to try it for my daughter who didn't sleep as a child, she too turned into a tornado, without any sleep to start with, like you, never again.Chin up, Titus out.0

Karcher have you tried writing a journal ? Putting all those thoughts down on paper ? I had a friend recommend doing that when I couldn't sleep and it usually works. There is something therapeutic about writing of this kind, especially for people who have experienced traumatic events in their lives.0

DD1 was knocked over in the playground when she was five. She was very distressed and definitely not her usual self so we took her to A&E. She wouldn't lie still for the x ray so they said they'd have to sedate her. Some time later when she was still climbing the walls I thought to ask what they had given her. When they said Phenergan I told them that whenever I gave it to her for travel sickness, as recommended by my GP it made her made her hyper.Until then I hadn't realised it was supposed to be a sedative.0

That'll be me then
Thanks grandma247. I hadn't thought of it no. I used to write a lot but haven't recently. I could give it a try. Reading used to help too (a book as opposed to the internet) but I often found I couldn't put it down and kept reading one more page, one more chapter etc and still be reading at 5am :rotfl:'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
