I agree and good for you :)

I would be happy to sleep...one of my problems is I struggle to sleep..I have done since I was a child.

No matter how tired I am, sleep often eludes me.

I would love to have the refuge of sleep :o

    I envy you, I really do :)

Part of the book did say that a fair few of the nap benifits can be gained by simply lying horizontally and closing your eyes for a while, so even if you can't sleep a lie down can help. I wish I could send you some dopiness, I seem to have an excess.

I found with years of ME that does work SS. Even 20 mins just lying flat with eyes closed can help.
  • My L&M is on the late shift so I go and collect him just as I would normally be going to bed, this means I get to sleep later, but still need to get up early for work.
So I got home from work, snuggled down on the sofa under my quilt for a quick snooze.
I'd been asleep for about 10 minutes when the phone rang, it was a bloody cold caller wanting to sell me insulation, aarrgh!
    Chin up, Titus out.

Thanks for the offer Softstuff...I would grab some of your dopiness with both hands :D

I think a lack of sleep is the reason for a lot of my blue moods and lack of motivation. I feel exhausted a lot of the time and must have a massive sleep deficit over the years.

Like now for instance..I am so tired due to another bad night last night and all I want to do is have a bath..get into bed and sleep till morning. That for me is an impossible dream..it would never happen unless someone whacked me over the head with a sledgehammer:p. Mind you the minute my noisy neighbours get home about 8.30pm I'd be wide awake again!!

A lack of sleep over the years has much to answer for imho:o

karcher Have you ever been to the doctor with your sleeplessness?

Mine turned out to be sleep apnoea. I have what is called a cpap machine and that stops me waking up every couple of minutes.

Of course if it is noisy neighbours you could try going to your local council. They have ways to stop noisy neighbours. You do not have to be a council tenant.

    Dang me, ....

DD and tribe went home with bits and pieces that I had put away for Christmas and forgotten to give them - as happens EVERY year!.

My family joke about this. Every year there is somethings put away in a safe place for Christmas that I find in January. The teasing starts at the table because some years I find them and leave them on their plates before serving up

Thanks nursemaggie. I have spoken to the doctor over the years but I think I am just a bit of insomniac. I don't seem to be able to stop my brain thinking and switch off..I'm a worrier and over thinker so that doesn't help.

Re the neighbours, they are only noisy during the evening, never late at night so I can't really complain. I'm very, very noise sensitive and the walls are paper thin. I find I get anxious when I hear them come home which probably doesn't help.

    Basically, I'm a lost cause :o:p

Could you have soft music or audio book playing on headphones?

Thanks for the suggestion elona :)

I have thought about audio books.
I used to listen to Radio 4 but recently have used earplugs just in case it is noise that is disturbing me.
