There's a cooker monna and I have a washing machine and fridge freezer in the garage (the norm when you move around private rentals as some house have fitted kit) but when Mam 's house is sold we'll be refitting the kitchen to add units into the dining part. I am really nervous about the postage stamp kitchen but we can definitely make do with what is there for now. :)
  • Morning all,

We're back from our sunrise walk and I've just polished off a big bowl of porridge and I'm finishing off my coffee now. It was cold and frosty but also quiet, beautiful and a little eerie with birds circling and flapping.

It is so nice to hear everyone's news and goals.

Monna, I do hope the house selling goes as planned. Enjoy the help keeping it tidy from Dora--although I'm sure she'll find a way to contribute to the mess soon enough!

Ginny, it is nice to hear from you. I often wonder how you are. Don't overdo it--remember you must look after Ginny too.x

Mila  is all I have to say! I'm glad Quoye was safely out of the way.

Fuddle--oh what a year! I didn't know that you'd lost your mother and were buying a house. It may be small, but it will be yours! I'm just imagining you now, running up curtains and cushions on your sewing machine to deck out the girls' room. It isn't the size of the house, but the size of the love in it that matters and yours will be bursting with love.

GreenT, warmest welcomes! I may not be around all the time but I'm very pleased to see you popping in. I didn't share much at the time, but 2011-2014 were very tough years for me and my OH and I did come out the other side and things are much brighter. Stick with this thread and here is to hoping that 2017 is a rich and wonderful one for you.

Hester, I thought of you on Christmas day and wondered if you'd found your new home yet. I do hope that 2017 brings more peace to you and your L&M.

Silva--I love bread and butter pudding. OH isn't such a fan, so I don't make it much. I may have to schedule one in this month. I hope you have a lovely year.

Floss, best of luck with the new job and the painting!

    Ivy--so nice to 'see you'!

Arthritic Old Thing--nice to see you posting! I hope you have a warm and lovely new year.

    Furry Beast of OZ--thanks!

Pollyanna--nice to hear from you. I too wonder how Nuatha is and miss his posts.

mcculloch--I hope you've plenty of rose candles to burn this year and that you burn them!

Mrs LW--warmest hugs. I hope you have the best of times getting to know your newest addition to the family and that the health and cheer of you and HWK continues.

I am sure I've forgotten someone, but it was truly lovely hearing about all of you. Hugs and a lovely start to the New Year to you all.x
  • I knew I'd left off some of my greetings!

Karcher, welcome! I hope 2017 turns a corner for you and that you pop in here regularly. This thread has helped me through some really tough times and is always good for a laugh.

    Melodramaticme--nice to see you!

Camelot--send some of that sunshine this way for the New Year.

Softstuff, those are lovely goals--but exhausting! I haven't kept up with your house progress but surely you MUST be getting close? maybe? working kitchen and bathroom?

Nursemaggie, I'm pleased to hear that your son's language lessons are going well.

Burtha--I don't know how you do everything. I hope that your DD is feeling more confident these days. I remember she was having a tough time around summer, but hopefully that is well past.

Hollysnan, I hope your health is much better. It is nice to see you coming to post now that you're feeling better.

    Fuddle,

So glad that you are going to have your own home. You deserve that security after the last few years.

Monna....heres to you having your own home again soon......Dora sounds wonderful........I enjoy telling gullible people that we havent needed to use a vacuum cleaner since Mossy came to live with us!

Its a very warm 35c here today, we were out to lunch with my Brisbanian cousins and head down to Bunbury with them on Thursday morning. No MSE people around here?

    Stay safe and well

Skim reading as up late and wobbly. Nice to see some "old" faces. We had snow last night for a bit and woke up to minus 4 and a lovely sparkly morning.

    .

Not that close! My lofty goal is to be done by next Christmas. Progress halted just before Christmas but will begin again soon. The uoside financially is I'll be working full time, the downside is... I'll be working full time!

There are so many lovely people on here :A :A :A :A

As Marie often says, thank you for being my friends :)

It was meant to be below freezing here last night so when I got up I dressed accordingly, but there's no sign of any frost! It's a beautiful morning :)

ETA With regard to the four angel emojis, I don't mean to imply that only four of you are lovely :D
  • Thank you for the welcome back.

My health took quite a turn downward from August till November that I did get quite scared.
Then a lovely nurse told me there was nothing I could do about it but to enjoy what time I had.
So I decided to be positive, read a book on how to meditate and just relaxed.
I am slowly recovering , I am on morphine patches and tablets.
But I am still here and enjoying life.

I am reading all your lovely stories of new life plans.
I do wish everyone of you a Wonderful New Year filled with happiness and love

I recently fitted an area next to my kitchen and used matching wall units on the floor with the work top over them, narrower than the floor units but gives much need storage space, maybe an idea for you to use? Hope all goes smoothly.
Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama ;)
