  • Hi to you all, imreading and not always commenting as im so busy at work and then the home to look after plus 60 chickens and the dog to look after , its all go .......
Ive got this damn SAD again , had it since 2 nd week of October , its gets me the same time every year , so dr as upped my anti depressants until I feel better then they will go down again , the winter is such a struggle for me , im tired all the time , just lack sunshine .....But I will survive im sure .....

Im really fed up with all the talk of christmas , so early really , its on the tv and the radio it drives me nuts ......

If I had my children young again its different, so a friend and I are going to Tenerife for christmas week :j , we both live on our own so we may as well ......So I will do what I normally do for the 2 boys and their families and thats give them gift vouchers each , that way they can buy what they want , plus I dont have to spend hours trawling around shops buying them stuff that they dont really want .......

Ive saved quite a bit of money this past week , everytime I get household renewals through the letter box , I telephone each company and say that I do not wish to renew as its come in too expensive , so they say hang on and I will see what I can do on the renewal price and everytime they come back with a lower figure , you dont get it if you dont ask , Ive saved £100 s of pounds every year by doing that , its only a 15 minute phone call to save quite a bit every year ...................

On the household house insurance I saved £82 by saying I wouldnt be renewing with them as its come in too expensive .........It all adds up......

Well im fed up with this wet cloudy weather now everywhere seems to be saturated , we need cold frosty nights and sunny days .......

I hope your all well , love reading all the posts , such a happy place on here , love you all, Sheila xx

Sheila, that's a fab idea, I've been to Tenerife & flown home on Christmas day and it was gorgeous weather, so hopefully you should get plenty of good sunshine to help through January.

I havent any tattoos either . they dont appeal to me at all , but each to their own .....
And as you all know ive lost 5 stone of weight and im pleased to say I havent got any wings either , so this summer was the first time in 11 years that ive been wearing tops with no sleeves , I probaly think that i was swimming alot whilst losing weight so it must have toned me up .....
Im lucky that I havent been left with lots of loose skin as being nearly 60 I really thought I would have been , im so pleased im now a size 12 , im loving it so much .......

Ive got a hospital appointment in the morning and its for the lung function clinic , thats where I will be taking back my CPAP machine as now ive lost the weight I dont need to sleep with the machine on as I use to cut out breathing 22 times per hour , so no need for the machine anymore , so I did have sleep apnoea , yay so glad to get rid of that damn noisy machine running all night .........

    Catch you all later...Sheila xx

Sheila even those of us with small ones are tired of the early Christmas talk. DH is grumbling especially this year and he likes Christmas!

Hats off to you for getting out of the box and making some memories for yourself while kicking that SAD right where it needs it. Hang on in there... sunshine awaits :D

Monna, people definitely look around Christmas time, and buy shortly after. We did!. The estate agent said that a lot of people have Christmas in their house, decide it's too small or don't like it and want out. Good luck xx

  • Morning all,

Sheila, I hope you have a fabulous time! I'm a little jealous. I don't have severe SAD, but I do find the winter months tough and I think Tenerife sounds like the ultimate remedy!

Monna, I'm wishing you good luck and lots of patience--adding in viewings to the mix of a busy family, the holidays and everything else you do sounds like it will be a busy time!

I had a lovely walk yesterday, although short. OH made tuna for tea, but I have plenty of leftovers in the fridge--twice baked spuds and roasted veggies and courgette lasagna to choose from for lunch. I'll sort myself out for dinner when I get back from the gym as it is a parent's evening and then I'll probably head to my craft group this evening. Between now and then I just have lots of work to get through.

Hugs to all who need them.x

Been MIA, tired few days but still reading. Been very cold here for several days, well below zero. Lowest so far minus 8, all bits out of the sun stayed deep frozen and we're feeding the wee birds. Got two 13 tog downies on the bed, very cosy. and Beeglie has a hot water bottle in her wee igloo.

Lovely to see you Sheila! So pleased for you that you don't need the cpap any more. And a sunny holiday at Christmas sounds a great idea.

mardatha Brrr! that sounds much too cold for me

Sunny here at the moment :)

Sheila. Pleeeeease let me come with you. I promise I'll be good, you won't even notice me. Pleeeeease, I don't want to be here for the next 6 weeks or so. Pleeeeease, I'm too old for all this. Pleeeeease!!!

Mar. If you are a very, very good girl we will scoop you up and carry you with us. The excess luggage might cost Sheila a bit, but I'm sure she will find it worth while.

Another EA coming today but I'm leaving DS2 to do the honours. I will be up in the village having my hair cut. Im a bit reluctant as it has looked unusually good for the last couple of weeks. S*ds law isnt it?
If I leave it any longer it will start looking awful again tomorrow.

Right. Still a mound of toys to put away and the downstairs floor to wash.
