Monna, one of my DD's works for an EA, she says tidy, uncluttered homes always sell quickest, some people have no imagination and think if they buy an untidy house it will be untidy when they live there.
Went out for an Indian meal last night, it was lovely, my birthday treat from some of my kids, my DGS10 came too, he behaved really well and gave me a card in which he had listed the reasons he loves me.
I'm grabbing a nana nap now until it's time to get my L&M from work.Chin up, Titus out.0 -

The wedding would be at an all inclusive resort. Frankly, it's as far removed from our idea of a holiday as it could get, but most likely we'd fly to Canada, go to cuba for a few days for the wedding, then back to Canada before heading down to New England (where we'd both actually like to go). It's a good job I'm working and have plenty of time!
Been on nights, so just saw your reply.
Most Cuba packages from Canada are for seven nights. Not that expensive, really depends on the resort chosen. There's a bit of a rush in Cuba packages right now, because the US has made it legal for its citizens to travel there. Costs will rise because of the extra people who you want to go. A lot of Americans have relatives there but may prefer to do the resort thing. For years some have crossed the border, booked a holiday and went to visit.
I'll admit it's never been a place I wanted to go. Turned down a trip there with my mum there, a few years back. The food can be dodgy.
If you want more info go to the CBC website. They did a bit on Cuban holidays from Canada today.0 -
Thanks Wondercollie, that's really helpful. The food is something that worries me a bit, with the medication I'm on, a simple bug hits me like a sledgehammer, but apparently this particular resort is good. We'll see I guess
I'll take a look at the cbc website.

Seems as if none of us has much to say atm0

Well I was wondering whether Softstuff had read the news re the death of Fidel Castro - in view of her impending trip to Cuba....:)0

I'm reading along but knee deep in grandchildren at the moment.
Still trying to persuade the solicitors to do their job, still tearing my hair out with their complete lack of interest.
I hope everyone else is ok.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Oh my, how did I ever move house? I've spent all day clearing out the kitchen, taking bags and boxes upstairs, stuff from the utility down to the cellar and I'm exhausted!
I have a chap coming tomorrow to see about taking the old kitchen, was a little wary of him coming as I am on my own and I don't know him and he has to come into the house. I've sold and given away lots of things via Gumtree and Freegle but I only ever need to be at the door. Anyway, DD and her BF are coming over for the time he plans to arrive and the neighbours are around - I'm sure it will be fine.0 -
Hmm....the "k" word - as in am trying not to think about kitchens at the moment as the kitchen my house came with left a lot to be desired when I bought the house a couple of years back. Time hasn't helped...
ie signs of deterioration in what is basically a very cheap kitchen badly planned and badly installed.
Now I might - possibly - surely not? have been googling as to what I think new kitchens cost. I'm not going to go for built-in fridge or freezer - I've got perfectly good/recently bought ones and my washing machine ditto. So - quick count of present kitchen units comes to only 5 of them. So the positive side of this is I'm checking out sample kitchens with 8 units (rather than those with lots of units). I think this means I should be able to get good-quality units and repainting and new vinyl for the floor and I might include built-in cooker and fancy hood for around £5k?? I'm hazarding a guess at "worst case analysis" being up to £10k? for a kitchen that I will like and that will "see me out" (ie last 25 years).
Lots of financial calculations going on here as to when I can get it....0 -
Ivyleaf, went out to dinner at a friends last night and was told that I was extraordinarily quiet, so irl I'm just as bad! Am just exhausted really.
All will be well once hubby can lift a finger, but until then, I'm it.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070
