Has anyone ever been to cuba? Hubbys friend has asked him to be best man at his wedding (he was ours) and it'll be in cuba. We were all set for heading to canada for it one day, but cuba seems more.... adventurous. It's in 18 months, so a fair lead up.
Where in Cuba? All inclusive or regular hotel?
Loads of coworkers have been. Some love it others refuse to go back.
Very popular with Canadians in the winter. We can only take so much snow0 -

Ye gods I'd get the sack at work if I sent an internal email like that, never mind an email to a client.
Ye Gods - and I wouldnt be charmed with their lack of knowledge of whatever-it-is either.
But - as regards the phrasing - it used to drive me up the wall when I saw bad grammar and/or bad spelling on any communication to me whilst I was unemployed. I used to - as loudly and visibly as I could - wonder why they were in a job and someone like myself wasn't
So - can't say I blame you...0 -

The wedding would be at an all inclusive resort. Frankly, it's as far removed from our idea of a holiday as it could get, but most likely we'd fly to Canada, go to cuba for a few days for the wedding, then back to Canada before heading down to New England (where we'd both actually like to go). It's a good job I'm working and have plenty of time!Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Morning all,
I think its been a few days, maybe even a week or two! I have been reading. Work has been very busy, but a dentist appointment yesterday has slowed me down a bit. All is fine with my teeth but I've been referred to the hospital to have a spot on my tongue checked. It is likely something innocent, but scary none-the-less. OH had suggested I re-arrange the dentist since work was so busy but I said 'no, it is important to keep up with these things.' I'm glad I did now. Scary as it is, better to know now than several months from now when I finally got around to re-booking.
Belated Happy Birthday Hester! I hope you're able to sort the solicitors out soon, but I'm not holding my breath!
I must confess that I refuse to be the 'rememberer' for the birthdays in OH's family. I have to work very hard to do it in my own family and he'd never dream it was his responsibility to remember my mum's birthday! He did completely forget his mum's birthday one year (it was early in our relationship and I didn't actually know her birthday, but I didn't make the effort to find out). It was very awkward. I did feel guilty. My MIL is absolutely lovely and deserved to be remembered, but my OH learned his lesson and is much more on top of it now! I'll happily contribute to thinking of/getting presents, picking up a card if it is on the list etc. and have even handmade things for my niece and nephew, but he is a grown man and his family deserves to have HIM put that effort in.
Nursemaggie, I'd sort out the cards I was most likely to use and donate the rest of them. There are charities that collect cards for people in hospital etc. I don't know of any in the UK, but they both provide them for people who can't get out to buy their own and send them to people in hospital who have no family. My grandmother also sends her homemade cards every month to a list of people who can't get out due to illness, age, caring responsibilities etc. She gets the list from her church. I think postage can be a bit dear, but it is a small way she feels she can help and might be another way to free up some storage space.0 -
Good to see you wondercollie  I guess you have snow by now?
FPk Try not to worry too much about your tongue; the same thing happened to DH, he'd had a funny-looking spot on his tongue for some time and just hadn't thought to get it looked at! (He didn't mention it to me or I'd have sent him to the dentist post-haste.)
When he went for his routine check-up the dentist referred him to the hospital, but by the time he had his appointment it had healed up! Hopefully the same will happen to you x.0 -
Thanks Ivy. It is very likely that will happen, but reassuring to hear it from someone else!0

Merciful heavens!!!
I am expecting 2 E As today to value the house. I more or less blitzed the house yesterday but made a list of things to do this morning - make the beds, put the toys away (again), thrust any clothes on the floors into drawers and cupboards, wash the kitchen floor, You know the sort of thing.
At 9.00am we had a call altering the 1.30pm appointment until tomorrow. Great! The next one was not until 3.00pm.
Accordingly I relaxed, had another cup of coffee and was just preparing to have a leisurely shower before getting stuck into my list.
At which point I heard DS2 calling me urgently. I threw on my dressing gown and raced downstairs to be faced with a bemused son and an equally bemused estate agent who had us down for a10am appointment.
We both fell about laughing when we realised what had happened and she was so nice that I invited her to look round anyway if she promised to do it through half closed eyes.
So she has been and gone and I am recovering, still in my dressing gown and nursing a restorative mug of industrial strength coffee.
She has advised us to put the house on the market before Christmas because she said we would be surprised at how many people view houses over the Christmas period. HELP!
I said that nothing would surprise me in future and she left, still laughing.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Monna, if I we're you I would go with her - an understanding EA with whom you can get on is always a benefit, as I've found they are more keen to help you by selling the house!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Monna that's just typical! When you really, really want something to be just so it ends up being not only the exact opposite but the worst it could possibly be. I do hope your dressing gown was clean.
PS people do view houses on top of Christmasalthough that is coming from the kid who has moved umpteen times on top of Christmas so I doubt I'm of the normal ilk. :rotfl:
