Noo not at all Ivy - I ate microwave porridge for years before I was into moneysaving0
-
Thank you Ivy, that is kind. I (mostly) enjoy cooking, probably one of my favourite aspects of OS. The menu isn't nearly as interesting when I'm swamped with work though!0

Booked my flight to go back to Malta in May. Will be my last visit as they move to Romania in September next year.
I should just eat what you feel like ivyleaf I found for the few months after my op I could not eat anything with a tomato sauce or fresh tomatoes. I did have half my stomach removed.0 -
Oh nursemaggie, that must have been very painful! Is it still tender?
I bought some corned beef hash (didn't want to commit to actually making any myself atm) for my dinner tonight. I doubt I'll finish it, but hopefully I'll manage a bit of it.
The letter from the hospital didn't turn up, so i rang them and eventually ascertained that the Daycare Unit are expecting me in the morning - at 7 o'clock  The booking office had told me 7.30, and I'd arranged for DD2 to pick me up at 6.50..
So I told them I had been told 7.30 and had made arrangements accordingly. They said to just get there as near to 0700 as possible and they'll book me in when I get there.0 -
Hope all goes well tomorrow ivyleaf. I've had H Pylori and it was horrid, but not as bad as the cocktail of anti Bs I had to take to get rid of it, the toilet held me hostage for quite some time!
Went to the hospice today for my volunteering shift - my heart really isn't in it any more. So much has changed, including management, and it isn't the same atmosphere, nor is there very much to do. I'll give it till Christmas to see how I feel.
Just off for a walk to a friends Guides, they have a foodbank and DS2 asked that his left over food from his camping trip be donated. Hope the rain stays off.0 -
camelot I remember I managed to keep going to work while on those antib's, but by the time I finished them I had to take a week's sick leave as they'd made me so ill! and they gave me vivid and unpleasant dreams. I can hardly wait to take them again
ETA Though better than the alternative, of course.0 -
No ivyleaf it was over 3 years ago. They were wonderful at keeping me totally pain free. I spent 5 days in intensive care two days on a ward and then they sent me home no pain at all and now my stomach is stretched back big enough for what I need. Floss and Softstuff will vouch for that. I could not eat the huge meals I used to eat at Christmas when we went out for tea Christmas day boxing day and if the weekend followed two more day and we had 4 meals each on those days.
Now we eat very little more than a normal day. I lost 1lb over Christmas last year.
It was not just the pain with tomatoes but they also made me sick. It's probably the same effect just don't eat Italian or have tomatoes with salad until you are better. Eat live yogurt while on the A/Bs and you should not be tied to the bathroom. I hope all goes well tomorrow, I will be thinking of you.0 -
Morning all,
Nursemaggie I'm glad you were kept comfortable and that things have stretched back so that you can eat comfortably now.
The pie last night was very nice, so nice that I've written down what I did for next time as I can never remember exactly and sometimes are better than others. :rotfl: I'm heading to yoga tonight and might stop off at the fabric store beforehand. OH is making falafel for tea. Today is the last day of my mixed work/housework days so I'll try to make the most of it. I'll be organising my work projects for the coming weeks so that things feel less hectic. We've had the heating on a bit more the last day or so as it has been much colder. The house one one side is up for sale so is cold and that doesn't help.
Things look a bit gloomy this morning and it has just started pouring heavily so I'm going to put the crackling fire noise in the background and light a candle at my desk. Surprising how much cosier that makes things feel for just some background noise and a candle!0 -
DGD9 and I have just spent an entertaining couple of hours learning how to needlefelt by watching youtube, great fun and she's made 4 small animals.
Tomorrow I need to collect a parcel from the sorting office and buy some cheese from the posh cheese shop in the next village as we have visitors tomorrow.
Early night here, I've read a story to DGD who is now asleep, so I will go to bed a read.Chin up, Titus out.0
