Ivyleaf, worth mentioning there are a few different anti-nausea drugs, some work better than others. The one I have now works within 15 minutes and lasts 8 hours, works a treat for me (not an everyday thing, just as and when). So maybe mention to the doc and see if there's anything else you can try?

  • I hope you feel better soon Ivyleaf.
Is the job still ok Softstuff.
Hideous day at work, I was glad to get home, well I'm always glad to get home.
My L&M has his ECG tomorrow, hopefully there is nothing seriously wrong, Thursday he has his assessment for Talking Therapy, I hope he feels better soon, I'm fed up with having my head bitten off!

Ivyleaf it depends what is causing the nausea as to what works.

Oh hugs, Hester I do hope things start getting better for you.

Thanks folks, i'm going to the walk-in clinic at our surgery this morning :)

Oh dear, Hester, it sounds as if you are currently providing your L & M's talking therapy! I hope his ECG is okay. Thinking of you both xx
  • Morning all,

Hester it is tough being in a relationship with someone who is struggling. Big hugs.

Ivy, I hope they're able to give you some relief!

I've a similar day planned today as yesterday. I didn't make it to the second hand market in the end but will definitely get out for a walk today. I'm still giving the gym a miss until I get rid of this cough but the light exercise will be nice. I think I'll do HM bread and soup for tea today as it has turned colder. I also need to pick up a few things including milk so perhaps we'll have a cocoa on the sofa tonight.

We were invited to fireworks and a bonefire night in a nearby village on Friday, but unfortunately OH has an open day Saturday so we won't be able to attend.

Hugs to all who need them.x

Hugs Hester, I hope his ECG is fine and the talking therapy is a good thing.

Day 2 went well I think, I've been in at the deep end. SO much for being cossetted, Friday morning I'm on my own.... bearing in mind they still don't like leaving the woman who's been there since may alone, I think they're confident in me! Ah well, sure I'll manage. I'm learning all about various medical procedures, dealing with in patients, emergencies etc. It's pretty cool, don't think I'll be bored.

Sorry for all those suffering. My toe / foot is more a bl00dy annoyance than anything, but thanks for the sympathy.

It also means i will be spending on petrol and parking, tubes and taxis more than i would normally as i generally walk everywhere and now can't. Shows you need to have a contingency - but i guess that is partly what money is for.

Made up a huge vat of soup this morning for OH lunches. I tend to combine lunch and breakfast and rarely eat soups or salads and don't eat sandwiches at all, so it is mostly for him. He had a medical which showed that his blood sugars are high. He is around 3 stone overweight so I am glad that they have given him a warning (without anything too major being up, IYSWIM). So he is cutting the carbs and sugars and i am shoving all sorts in the soups to improve his health.

Going to the cinema this evening to see I, Daniel Blake. I am a bit scared of my reaction - anger or upset, not good at either :o
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Do tell us what you make of the film - I'm thinking of going to see it myself.

Only too glad that my periods of unemployment were decades ago - ie before all the cuts. Whew! I would be very worried indeed about being a single childless person on the dole now (even if safely in the 35 plus age group).
  • CSA stalled again for a while, solicitor chased re form signing, just waiting for my L&M to get back from the hospital.
I lost my temper with a work colleague today but I refrained from punching her in the head so I consider that a positive!
