I think I (maybe) need something a little bit stronger with my biccies. I've just been googling away a bit and am investigating a Beatles autograph I found in a book I bought and...so far got to 99% certainty its authentic.

Ah not so much Bourbon Creams as just Bourbon needed :o
    Must use my stash up!

Oh well....that thought didn't last for long....I've just been informed that the date on the flyleaf of the book doesn't tally with the date of his death.

That being he would have had to go in for a bit of "resurrection from the dead" or time travel to have done it. Now puzzled as to why on earth someone would carefully copy a "famous persons" signature?

But then....I'm always puzzled as to why there is a cult of celebrity anyway and don't keep tabs on who is currently deemed to be Important. (or dead....)...

    Back to the drawing board....
  • Welcome Toomuchdebt, I rarely post but still feel very much part of the thread.

Lovely day in South Manchester, pegged some washing out for the first time in ages.

    Evening all,

Just a post while I wait for the quiche to finish. I've made a tabbouleh to go with it using up some quickly wilting mint, a lemon past its best and even chucking in a bit of a pepper I had lurking. Not strictly traditional but as I'm not fond of tomatoes it gives a bit of red to compliment the cucumber.

Unfortunately I lost two eggs in the quiche making process which means I'm short for the planned cake later in the week. It isn't the end of the world, although I'm a bit grumpy today and it was just the sort of icing on my not-in-the-mood-to-cook cake I didn't need today. Everything seemed to go wrong--the pastry stuck to the surface, the bowl of resting sourdough for baking tomorrow wouldn't fit in the fridge without moving a shelf etc. On the upside I had enough on its last legs spinach for the quiche so I've saved my bacon and leeks and can use those for another meal. Tomorrow is a roast chicken dinner so that we can have sandwiches for a day trip on Saturday and then I think I'll get OH to cook Saturday evening. He normally cooks about half the time, but I've got a larger repertoire and more time on my hands at the moment so I've largely taken over. Still, everyone needs a break now and then.

We've had a look at the local rental market and made the decision to approach our current landlord about staying. If he raises the rent by more than £50, then I think we'll talk seriously about moving. Otherwise I think we'll stay.

We'll be watching the election debates tonight, if we can find somewhere online to watch. I suspect we'll both get fed up and give up before it is over, but we'll give it a go.

Thank you all for the lovely welcome :)
FairyPrincess I moved because of neighbour issues so I sympathise-in my case it was footballs and kids screaming and women having rows with their partners right outside my windows and people constantly climbing in my garden, and throwing old broken toys and rusty bikes and banging on the windows to make the dogs bark. I didn't open the curtains in the kitchen and living room for 2 years ...no way to live.

Hi Toomuchdebt, such a friendly thread, hope your spirits are lifted very soon.

Those biscuits I just helped myself to were delicious, hope you enjoyed them too!

Well, I made it to the end of term, I was like a whippet out of a trap at 2.30 this afternoon, actually did the ironing when I got home I was in such a good mood!

Visited friends to take birthday cards after my hospice shift and ended up delivering a large box of garden furniture to their DD, didn't stay at hers though as she has a horrible cough and a virus I could do without.

Trying to get myself organised for my trip away but I think I would be better waiting till tomorrow when I feel refreshed.

If I don't get back on for a few days, have a lovely Easter.
