a week's gas for a wee grill pan with blackened lumps in it... looked like a bad fire pic taken from outer space and it went in the bin0 -
May I join you please?I'm feeling rather lonely in real life as I seem to have very few friends and those I do have are the type that only ever get in touch when they want something...sadly they are not prepared to help when I need something as evidenced by my house move(ongoing). They offered to help but when I asked for help they were suddenly busy. Sigh. Feeling lonely in general tbh as I've been single for 4 years now and starting to wonder what's wrong with me. Anyway enough whining. I can't promise to write an awful lot until I finish with that old house(still so much STUFF there) but I do lurk quite a lot late at night when I should be sleeping and when the kids are all asleep.I'm off to work now so hope everyone has a good day-it's horrible weather out there at the moment.Debts Jan 2014 £20,108.34

Hello TOOMUCHDEBT welcome aboard the thread, post when you can petal, we're here 24/7 in some form or other and will always pick up the chat. Life is sometimes tiresome isn't it? people are sometimes tiresome too and weariness can get into your inner being and make you sad but it passes, and there is sunshine again and you'll be happy again soon. Take it one step at a time and when things are all neat and sorted you'll look round and life will click back into place, here for you until (well and after too of course) you get there! Lyn xxx.0

Welcome TooMuchDebt! I can offer a cup of tea, but I think Mrs. LW is in charge of the biscuit tin. Pop in when you have time.
Thanks for the pictures of spring Mrs. LW. I think this is the week I may move some of the potted plants back outside as a frost seems unlikely even if spring also seems remote.
Unfortunately the neighbour of doom was kicking off again last night. We ended up moving onto the futon in a room that doesn't share a wall with that side, but even with a corridor between and the door closed we still needed earplugs. We'll lodge another complaint with the council and see if we can get a few months respite after they visit again. I hate to keep bothering them, although there is a new development which I think they may be able to sort without much risk of creating more problems for us. We've been a bit jumpy since the firework was thrown at the front door. We're also looking at the local rentals available. We need to decide in the next month or so if we'd like to move so if there is anything suitable we may consider it, even if agency fees and moving would set our deposit savings back a month.:(
Last night's tea was aubergine involtini--a big success as OH thinks they're 'fancy.' I think tonight might be quiche but will have to check my 'rationalized' meal plan and make sure.0 -
Welcome from me as well Toomuchdebt. I'm another who doesn't post a lot, but this is a very friendly thread with a number of VERY friendly, helpful folks I recognise from other threads I haunt.Dor0

I think I (maybe) need something a little bit stronger with my biccies. I've just been googling away a bit and am investigating a Beatles autograph I found in a book I bought and...so far got to 99% certainty its authentic.
Now if there's any George Harrison fans out there....
I cant be doing with "celebrity" type stuff myself....but certainly won't object to any thought of swopping what is just a bit of paper (as far as I'm concerned) for some dosh:EasterBun
EDIT: Positive thinking note for the day....every little helps....many a mickle makes a muckle and lots of mickles would be a 6-figure amount of money and Money a happy Easter bunny. Thinking positive brought in some very useful sums of extra money in the past...so why not the future too?0 -
This is an arg. Every winter when our city decides to grade the snow on residential streets we are told to get the cars off the road or we will be ticketed, fined and the car may be towed (resulting in another fine). So back in January, our oldest son parked the car on the front lawn to avoid the risk of fines. Our garage and driveway had the other vehicles on it. So he has to go out of province for 8 weeks to work. We left his car on the lawn because it's Canada and you never know when it's going to snow and the roads near clearing
With me so far? I just got a letter telling me to get the car off the lawn as I can be fined for having the car on the lawn. Four other neighbours got the letter as well. Here's the kicker, the car was moved on March 14! So when I called the Council they said I was supposed to move the car daily!
This from the same council who won't do anything about the Tardis on my neighbours front lawn and the back yard full of junk that is an eyesore (all of which is visible on Google earth/maps as it's been there for so long)
My neighbour also got a letter claiming his dog was pooping on the street and he wasn't picking it up. The man walks around with a plastic bag on his hand for pick up because he has a very recognizable dog and can't risk not picking it up because everybody remembers a dog the size of a horse!
He's thinking of blowing up the Tardis.0
