Laughing at your comment re you no longer care what people think about you after a "certain age". Imo - you care...but you ask yourself whether it's "reasonable" or no and if your honest/objective opinion is they're wrong in what they said = san ferry ann (as my mother would say). Translation = it doesn't matter.

Still keeping fingers crossed for you Hester - re your OH. From my pov (ie everything should be "logical") I don't get where they are coming from that they can't see that for themselves - ie priorities must be established/ there are only a certan number of hours in the day to do everything. Beaming those positive vibes in your direction.
  • Ivyleaf How big is your under stair cupboard? It sounds bigger than our flat. I am beginning to get under stair cupboard envy, just for the storage space not the contents.

FPk Try some exercise on your neck. Very gently put your neck through all of its movement, don't jerk. Do it for about 10 minutes three times a day. Each movement about 10 times and then the next movement. Do it sat in a comfortable chair because it can make you dizzy. Don't push too far just gradual. If it happens again well do the exercises again until it has gone. Am I right you had this before?
  • Hi NurseMaggie--yes, I've had this before. I do the exercises as you say and a few other things I learned in yoga which help. Thanks for the reminder, though. I don't do them as often as you said, just once a day so I'll try to do it a bit more often. I tends to happen around this time of year. I'm not sure if it is the stress of the new term or the changing weather. I know it passes, usually within a day or so. I used some tigerbalm last night before I went to bed and that helps. I also get lots of problems around my joints because I'm hypermobile. I have some lovely yoga teachers who have been helping me learn where to stop stretching and to build up strength. I don't think this is related but some of the same remedies work!

Beef stew in the oven, it smells lush. I'm just going to light some tea lights and sit in the lounge. Might have a game of scrabble with OH or just knit and read if he doesn't fancy it. I usually win so it can be hard to talk him into it :D

I agree nursemaggie - looking at the amount of "stuff" that's had to be put in the dining room I expect to find Doctor Who packed away in one of the cardboard boxes (which have not been touched at all so far, as there's not room for them in the car until OH has emptied the bootspace and laid the back seats flat.)! The cupboard really doesn't look very big, but seems to hold a surprising amount.
I suspect he's planning to do most of it while I'm at church in the morning, so that I can't see how much he's [STRIKE]sneaking[/STRIKE] putting back into the cupboard

FPk - Sorry about your poor neck :( Is it tension that's the problem? I remember when I was having an incredibly stressful time at work (a bit like Hester's L & M, too many conflicting priorities) and the muscles in my head and head tightened up so much that I could only look straight ahead. In the end I saw a GP who made sure I didn't have meningitis and then said it was due to tension.

Does anybody know what you can eat to keep BP down?

Beetroot juice and honey with cinnamon just not in the same glass_pale_
This has worked for me in the past. Advised to drink the beetroot juice very well chilled tastes better that way but is quite earthy and not my beverage of choice

A Saturday night and finally I am here... tucked up in bed with my extra blanket (chilly tonight) and have wanted this since 8.30pm. I sometimes wonder am I missing something in life to.want to be warm, comfy and relaxed in my pit.

The armless armchair has been chopped and is ready for me to do the fabric thing. It will have to wait until DH's pay day though as there's nothing in the budget for fabric or staple guns
    It's looking promising :)

Shopping at Lidl today. I was given a scratch card at the check out. I won laundry detergent in my next shop. I saw a few Christmas items in there today.

Hoping I can sleep as the wind is in a whistling mood.

A spiced earthy taste is what I remember from trying to drink veg juice. Now I tend to be up for any taste but that, nope. It was a nose pinching job to try to finish the carton!

Fpk what does it mean to be hypermobile?

Fairyprincess, my husband is hypermobile, so I can sympathize well. Fuddle, the way his physio describes it is that he can get himself into positions to injure himself far more easily than the rest of us! He's currently having bother with his wrist, a suggestion is increasing weight training to basically try and hold himself together better.

Mardatha, you can hide beetroot taste fairly well with other fruit juices. I got a juicer to take advantage of $3 bags of fruit and vegetables I get here. Fresh beetroot juiced alongside apple, orange and ginger just tastes like pleasant fruit juice. Goes really well with gin too :rotfl:

We've both got a bit of spring hayfever. Frankly though we need something to offset our glorious weather, clear blue skies and beautiful scenery, we're too spoiled!
