Beeglie's on Applaws catfood, was my choice because it's grain-free. I just like to moan about her so she doesn't get too above herself.
Yes monna I have been told that before and will use it ty.
Softstuff thanks for that, I did do a lot of swithering about it.
Fuddle he might be eligible for some kind of compensation - lots of folk down here got that when they worked in the mills, and got comp from the govt.

Monna he has many get out clauses for his selective hearing. If it's not dyslexia caused memory loss and information overload = no retained information it's his dodgy hearing, not to mention he's had to watch TV with head phones on which makes him oblivious to everything around him. Gotta improve right? No? :rotfl:

Enjoy your company, your fast paced life (nice to read that is) and your new typing machine. Oh Monna what will we laugh at now? I mean you're grammar queen without the typos!

Thanks for putting me on the track of disablement benefit. I'll have a chat to him. Seems wrong because he manages though. Definitely food for thought. Thank you :)

floss Glad it all went well :j

Softstuff Thank you :rotfl: He does help if [STRIKE]moaned at[/STRIKE] asked, but is very tall and has problems after a spinal injury, so it really hurts him to lean over the sink. Also, one of his feet is numb due to nerve damage, so he reckons he can't empty the dishwasher because the angle he has to stand at makes him lose his balance.....(it's a slimline dishwasher so some things won't fit into it, hence the leaning over the sink..) I haven't yet worked out how it is that he can put things in the dishwasher yet can't take them out....

    mardatha What monnagran said.

fuddle So sorry about OH's ears :( At least it's good that it won't get worse if he's careful x

Don't swither Mardatha (I don't actually know the word, but guessed the meaning ). All of my present health concerns would have been smaller had they been treated or detected in time, but I didn't get a decent doctor until I came here. You're at a turning point now and a second opinion is the least you deserve. Tell your GP you want that, privately if necessary. Though may the Gods forgive me if this means you're so perky you lay waste to all kale growers and devour the Jelly baby stores :D

Ivyleaf, washing up hurts my husbands back too. Be damned if we're having him sore... so I'll be raising the next sink about 8 inches :rotfl:

Fuddle, it is absolutely not wrong claim industrial injuries benefit. Start claiming now and put it in an ISA, then if he needs it down the track, if anything worsens or a paid for hearing aid would be better, it's there for him. The thing about it is, if the SHTF, the amount isn't huge or backdated. If the claim goes in now, I believe it's easier to adjust later too if anything gets worse. Mum had this experience with dad. To me it's part of why he's paid national insurance.

Mar, when you see consultant go armed with a list of questions and don't go till she has given you all the answers , then agree to get back to her , if necessary then see someone else first , then ask the same question s and go from there ...your body so your decisions ..
    Every time I see a consultant I get a different set of answers , 50/ 50 sometimes ...

Long day today ..to much going on:undecided

ivyleaf it's the same syndrome that means your children can turn lights on but not off, open cupboards but not close them, find whatever they need in said cupboards but lose the power of remembrance for the returning of items....... and so on and so on :D:D
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.
  • Glad to hear about the laptop Monna, Mar, I hope you get the answers you need, sometime private is the only way to go.
It's still hell on wheels at work the machines still aren't working properly and I'm still losing sleep over that and a few other things.
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • Morning all,

Fuddle, sorry to hear about DH's hearing.
Hestersorry to hear all of the stress is impacting your sleep, but I'm not surprised!
MonnaNew computer! Hooray! You'll get used to Windows 10 eventually. Good luck with all of the cooking/transporting.
Marmight be worth comparing the price you're paying to zooplus (another website). They aren't always cheaper so may not be. To get free delivery you have to spend something like £29, otherwise it is a £2 charge so we tend to order a couple of months at a time of food, litter etc. I'm almost positive they do applepaws, but Maggie hasn't ever had that one. She has the dry food our vet recommended (she likes it and then we don't worry too much about what she has in the wet food) and then we give her Gourmet Perle wet food as that is the only one that she consistently eats (discovered accidentally by giving her a sample) so it saves us money in that we don't end up binning bowl after bowl of it when she goes off it. Of course, she only eats fish flavours of that one so we can't get it at our local Mr T which regularly runs offers on it...but only stocks meat flavours. Good thing she is adorable.
SoftstuffThanks. I have lots of mentors to help me if I'm in over my head. I think I'll feel better tomorrow once I actually know what I'm meant to do. It is the not knowing that gets to me!

Morning chores all finished and laundry started. Today is a gym day, but I'll try to go before lunch because of the heat. I have computer tasks this morning, but I think I have some work that can mostly be done in the garden this afternoon. Tea tonight is probably going to be a veggie thai green curry with aubergines (I swear we'll both be purple by xmas!), baby corn and mangetout from the supersix.
