GQ - Wild thing is adorable. I had a Maine Coon that was from our local ark - no one wanted him 'cos he was 10 - I'm a sucker for the old ones - all they want is a dinner& a quiet warm life - not much to ask. He was as thick as 2 short planks too - what made it worse was his overbite made him look like the village idiot but he was a nice old boy who had a good old age with us. We do love our furbabies don't we!

Getting as bad a facebook with all these cute cats. It's not that I don't like cats just prefer dogs, not that we can have either as we rent. Got a pet smoker, they are not allowed either so have to throw him out in the rain. Wish it would stop him smoking.

All the splashes of milk have come back in the kitchen. Keep washing them off with washing up liquid but they just keep coming back.

Nursemaggie - yes its a b**her to get out. Can I suggest washing up liquid neat with a green scourer? That may do the trick as its the fat/protein in the milk or failing that a solution of soda crystals??

Dashing in - been reading along (barely as mad busy) if not posting but just [popped in to say Nursemaggie - baby wipes - any will do so cheap as chips value will be fine - will get milk spills off. Young master Stilty gets overexcited and shakes his milk cup (allegedly non spill but are they ever?) so we have splashes over the wall, fireplace and TV (he sits really close as V.V. partially sighted) and I find the only thing that gets the slashes off is baby wipes and on the really stubborn ones that have been dried in a while I use my nail behind the baby wipe if you get what I mean. Take care all - catch you all in a bit - X

Don't think I dare use neat washing up liquid on cupboards as they are untreated but very old pine ones. Would be fine if they were mine as I could paint them.

Will try the baby wipes I have some of the savers ones.

Nursemaggie - forgot about the babywipes - I've had good results from them on all sorts of spills - hope they do the trick

Cute cats! Nursemaggie baby wipes are magic, kind of scary really when you think we use them on baby skin.
    Softstuff the apartment looks fantastic!
    And I know it's different, but cheaper : http://www.ilovewallpaper.co.uk/wallpaper-c1/patterned-wallpaper-c2/birch-tree-wallpaper-natural-beige-cream-p741/s741?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=fine-decor-birch-tree-wallpaper-natural-beige-cream&utm_campaign=product%2Blisting%2Bads&cid=GBP&gclid=CKvoztnCz8QCFRQatAodZ2oAvA

DH's grandfather died last night, he'd been in hospital for a few weeks after another stroke and had seemed to be improving, but at 94 hospital is not a good place to be anyway I guess. He had a lovely life, married for 74 years and still living at home with DH's grandmother who will now be bereft. It's awfully sad but the last year had been a struggle for him physically so the comfort is that he's no longer in pain.
Still house renovating, lots done now but with the Easter holidays being here it will slow right down, and I need to offer whatever help I can to the ILs and DH's grandmother. I have no experience of arrangements after a death and I have both children with me for 2 weeks now so I imagine there's not much help I can offer but I'll try, as even in their 70's DH's parents still work.

Possession - my sympathies to you and your family for the loss of your DH's grandad. I'm sure that any support you can give to the family whether practical or emotional will be very much appreciated. Hugs.

I have that wallpaper on my wall - only it's a fabric remnant from fleebay that I've stretched over a very large canvass - saving up for the wall paper (and my bedroom is a gustavian grey and white theme Mrs LW).

Is it possible that the length of cat fur is in inverse proportion to brains - even with the moggies, all my short-hars bar one have been very canny. I had a mog who was an exceptionally cute long-haired black with a bib and toes of white who thought she was catherine the great.....

e.g. to open a partially ajar door would flop in front of it and purr....

exH would invariably get up and open the door for her whilst muttering a lot about how thick she was. I pointed out that what she was doing worked every time....so really how stupid was she?
    :AA/give up smoking (done) :)
