Floss, jagermeister isn't something I've ever tasted. Maybe I should add that to the list.

Would a TENS machine (digital pain remover) help at all? Don't know if you've tried that...

From what I've read it seems to work primarily as a distraction therapy or placebo. Yet to find any solid evidence it works better than painkillers foranything other than childbirth. Going to chat to a physio who specializes in pelvic stuff though.

Softstuff So sorry you're feeling so rough. I was going to say "What a pain", but realised it might look as if I was trying to be funny :o
    Hehe, well, I liked it.

Monnagran, your vision of me isn't far wrong. My doc was very encouraging of the idea, cigar included. If he could have prescribed it he would have. There's a reason I keep going back to him. Heck of a week you have planned there, are you sure you won't have a whisky? I read your NSD too... sounds pretty good to me... minus the dusting.

I'll be fine in any case, just as soon as I toughen up. Don't worry Nursemaggie, I'm not heading for AA either. .. alcohol is too dear to overdo regularly :rotfl: Sorry your arthritis is having a flare, hope it settles for you soon.

Burtha, it's a very posh sounding tumour you have there.I hope he's withered.

  • Checking in on you all. This has been a difficult week. Not even whiskey would help.

My darling Sequoia has been calling her parents by their names. It's something her nursery school has been working on with all the two year olds. Sometimes children become lost or separated or stolen and when found the only thing they know is mommy and daddy. Names are important for little ones to know. DD1 has taught her her name, street and city. She said she never thought about teaching Quoye their names.

    Happy Friday to you all.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

  • Swap the coffee for tea Monna and that sounds like heaven for me too.

Sorry to hear so many are in pain or struggling.

I'm helping with extra childcare duties for 2 weeks, so it's busy at the moment. DD2 is working 9 -3 in one job and 5 - 10 in a second job, DD1 is providing free childcare the 2 yo who isn't at nursery yet for the day job, I'm providing a taxi service, transporting 2yo from one to the other.

Work has been an nightmare, some bright spark has decided we need an extra 30,000 documents produced on the first day of every term! The equipment I use isn't up to the amount of work I'm expected to do, most days this week I've had an assortment of engineers gazing into the depths of the machines, sucking their teeth and saying 'How many documents are you expecting these to do? Shaking their heads mournfully.
And then our bursar comes trotting in complaining that I'm upsetting the boss of the equipment provider with my 'constant complaints'. Well get the !!!!!!! things working properly then!!

And breathe, I'm collecting a 2yo DGD from childcare at 2, keeping her until 4, then swapping her for a 4 yo DGD who is staying overnight and then swapping them back at 10am tomorrow morning until 4ish on Saturday.

My L&M is either working or viewing a property with a view to our forthcoming move this weekend.

Once I am DGD free, I will list more stuff on ebay, paint the study and sleep.
    Chin up, Titus out.

Went to put my county into that and see what's happening here and couldnt find any Welsh counties there and map outline is only of England.

Do you have a similar link for the rest of the country please?[/QUOTE

  • Morning all,

I did go to craft group in the end last night and made more knitting and rag rug progress. It is sill hard going getting to know people, it will be a year in November and I still feel like I hardly know anyone.

Tonight is yoga--it is back on after a long break and I'm looking forward to it. OH has taken dough out of the freezer for pizza so that will be a delicious treat to look forward to. I think we finished off the salad last night, so I think it will be a scramble egg wrap with peppers and spring onions for lunch with sliced cucumber on the side.

Greenbee I'm glad to hear you're on top of it!

So sorry to read so many are really suffering with various health problems but find it so heartening how you all seem to 'rise above it' as much as you can. I'm totally in awe of your resilience even though I know you probably plough on regardless.
Just wish there was something more practical I could do than send hugs, sympathies and healing vibes.
Fuddle - I'm bored was a dirty word to my grandmother - woe betide any child that said that!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

I always taught the house elf that if I lost him in a shop he had to shout my real name as loud as he could. Mummmmmeeeeee isn't good in a shop full of parents and children and I'm hopeless at recognising his voice.

Softstuff I have only used TENS in childbirth so can only really comment on that but I have to say that I would have rather the pain than 'that thing' buzzing at me intermittently. I think about it with contempt and that is the childbirth that gave me my 3rd degree tear down below. All that pain, discomfort and violation and it's the ruddy TENS machine that I remember in disgust!

Good news today. Both DD's have a place at Brownie's and Guide's next week. I'm thrilled for them. Finally we have moved to somewhere where they can get in (although eldest did go to scouts just before we moved back north) Hopefully it will be character building and give them more confidence and experiences. :D

I'm trying not to think of the uniform costs coming up though.

I had planned to make dumplings with my yesterdays leftover lamb dinner fry up but I have no suet. Can I do dumplings without it? Surely dumplings were made long before Atora? Any help would be fab :)
