Can't they just whip it out Softstuff?
If not, gin tends to work better than whisky as far as I can tell, although extensive testing is advisable.
Well, I tried whisky tonight, it has done better than the gin last night. Though there are of course other spirits to try, whisky is also my docs favouriite. But then, he said the odd cigar wouldn't hurt either.
The leg is complicated, pull out the tumour, risk losing the leg. The stomach is medicated up, but as good as it gets. And if they remove the adhesions, more are likely to form pretty quickly and probably worse than the first lot. Hysterectomy is an option, but not great since I can't have HRT.
I reckon, it's either the distillery or the glue factory :rotfl:Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
'Herbal' remedies
I sympathise - I have hormonal treatment to prevent one cancer that puts me at high risk of another. Luckily the consultants talk to each other and are both easily accessible if I have any concerns.0 -

In case anyone is interested from 8-11 September are Heritage open days. You can look here to find out what is open near you. A lot of places have free admission and sometimes talks.

Went to put my county into that and see what's happening here and couldnt find any Welsh counties there and map outline is only of England.
Do you have a similar link for the rest of the country please?0 -
I'm sure the stew will be lovely Fuddle.
Thanks to you all I'm planning on planting an elderberry now!
Been back to the docs, I have adhesions. Thanks to the tumour in the leg I can't take anything hormonal to alleviate it, thanks to the stomach issues painkillers are dubious. This leaves a shot of whisky and a strong dose of hardening the f up! Bit sick and tired of painful things that can't be treated. At least menopause should have an upside :rotfl:
Would a TENS machine (digital pain remover) help at all? Don't know if you've tried that...0 -

It's a Heritage Festival only on in England.0 -
Good luck with the haybox fuddle
they used to teach Girl Guides how to use those when they were at camp and off for a day-long expedition!
Softstuff So sorry you're feeling so rough. I was going to say "What a pain", but realised it might look as if I was trying to be funny
And mar, sorry you're feeling hellish. Not too long until your appointment, thank goodness!0 -
Softstuff and Greenbee, you both seem to be in an impossible situation. You are damned if you do and damned if you don't
I wouldn't like to comment on the choice of knockout spirits. Softstuff I have a vision of you knocking back the whisky and puffing on a cigar. I wonder if we could get that on the NHS?
Mar: as long as the gob still works you'll be OK. You'll still be able to make us laugh and lift the odd jellybaby into the working orifice.
I am having a manic couple of weeks. Once the DGC were back in school the rest of life was waiting in the wings. Next week I have a friend coming over from the mainland for a week. I also have the lunch club to cook for. My partner in the kitchen had already organised about 20 people to come to her place for the day for one of their spinning/weaving/dyeing fests before she discovered that it was lunch club day. I have no car and the lunch club takes place about 10 miles away.
The week after, I have Pickle's fourth birthday plus associated celebrations. I am also going away at the end of the week to a wedding blessing for the son of our Indian friends. We couldn't go to the wedding which was in India last year so I am looking forward to that.
The following week I am doing a Macmillan coffee morning so will be baking up a storm.
This won't sound like a full life to most of you who are holding down a full time job, bringing up a family, struggling with health problems and growing your own vegetables. I know. I've been there.
Buuuuuut........You must remember that I am very old, very tired and very lazy.
I rest my case.
xI believe that friends are quiet angels
Who lift us to our feet when our wings
Have trouble remembering how to fly.0
