Got back rather later than usual from looking after the DGC. Poor DD left work at 4 o'clock, caught her usual train, but it crawled along (they always have to go more slowly in hot weather - the rails buckle, or something), eventually reaching the station two before hers. Then they announced a points failure at the next station. So she got a random bus with a useful destination on the front, only to find it went all round the houses! In the end she arrived there, and was able to get a bus that went along the main road near her home.

Very hot and tired when she got home at last, and then had to go straight out again (in her car this time, thankfully) because her OH had been so busy remembering to buy loo paper when he did the shopping at the weekend that he quite forgot to get any butter.
    All okay now though :)

ETA We did offer to go for the butter, but she said no, as we'd just got back from collecting a DGC from their childminder.)

HESTER - doesn't PVC squeak in this heat [/QUOTE]

I was thinking they may be a tad sweaty?

Ooh, Alan Rickman, definitely. Along with Morgan Freeman's voice.

PVC is very sweaty I have to admit, yes and it's squeaky, but it is also wipe clean, which has its advantages!

Poor DD Ivyleaf, what a nightmare journey.

  • Ahem....and some/many of us were simply too busy "living it" to keep a diary at the time....

and have spent time subsequent to that thinking "Whatever possessed me......? :(:mad:".

I blame "hormones" personally....and we'd all be well off without them imo....

Thankthelawd for the death of "hormones" I say:) - blasted nuisance that served absolutely no useful purpose imo:)

Motto = There are some advantages to reaching middle age - imo of course....
Blow "genteel" - some of us aint never gonna do "genteel". We're just too old and tired (and the hormones have given up - thankthelawd:)) to do anything else....:)

Some of us less than others of course - step forward and take a bow Hester:rotfl:

One of the cues for realising one is getting older imo = you've forgotton 99% of the trouble those darn "hormones" got you into and are squirming visibly about the 1% you remember
    - unless you're Hester of course LOL....

Are you saying we are all supposed to stop having a sex life when we hit menopause? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Do you honestly think Hester is the only poster on this thread with a libido?!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Life is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have. :)

Ye gods I hope I'm not the only one.
I'm probably the only one who witters on about it, but I blame that on working with almost 1000 teenagers who think sex stops when you each your 25th birthday.
Though I do work with someone who gave up sex when she was pregnant with her 2nd child, 28 years ago.
I also used to think that when Mar referred to her DH as the RV, I thought she meant Recreational Vehicle!

Of course Hester is the only one. Do you really think that the rest of us high minded, decent living, elderly maidens get up to the sort of shenanigans that Hester indulges in.
Oh my word. Pass me my smelling salts. I feel the vapours coming on.

Actually I don't know what you are all talking about so could we please in future get back to discussing recipes and knitting patterns so that I can join in again.

    Ta, ever so.

Add me to you readers Hester if you want an opinion, I have a few surprising stories myself but wouldn't print them, in any case they'd pale in comparison to yours. Why is it people assume if you look respectable and do your own baking, you couldn't possibly be abit naughty?

A bit naughty, softstuff? A BIT NAUGHTY.?

Saying that Hester is a bit naughty is like saying that the Atlantic Ocean is a bit damp.

Oh, thank you. A whole lot of Christmas present problems solved in one fell swoop.

    Love the elephant.
