Well, you really couldn't make that sh... up could you? The powers that be are out of their gourds at your workplace. Have you seen Office Space? You really need to.
Pollyanna, quite jealous of your lavender crop. My french lavender has a bit on it, but is soggy and limp from rain and humidity. My aussie bred lavender looks very lush and healthy, but hasn't flowered. I'm hoping to make rosemary and lavender pillows one day in any case.
Mila that sounded delicious. My hubby has never refused food, I'm lucky that way, most husbands I've known have objections bordering on the religious against some food or other.
Who is Peter and why are Mardatha and Hester trying to grab him?
Where are you planning to go Hester? Most places can accommodate a bit of homegrown, I saw a book at the library last week for container gardening. I still wish one of us could win the lotto so you didn't have to move.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Softstuff, I didn't cook tonight. I just sat out leftovers and let him pick from them and nuke them himself. I'm still POed.
He has done this all our married life. I've had [STRIKE]months[/STRIKE] periods of time where I quit cooking because he would make me so mad. I don't take rejection lying down!
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

My ex husband complained once about waiting for his dinner. I'd just got home from work, he'd been sat on his rear all day. I served him a tin of beans on a tray with a fork and tin opener. On another occasion I was so angry at him I didn't just throw a knife at him, I threw the entire cutlery drawer. I'm considerably less volatile now.
My dearest husband eats each meal with mmm sounds and grateful thanks, regardless of whether it's a gourmet treat or egg on toast. But then, he's no fool and he gets fed 3 meals a day, generally with a cooked breakfast.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
There are only a couple of things my OH won't eat, and he does some cooking. Probably 1/3 of it in term time and about half outside of term time. He also comes into the kitchen any time I'm cooking and comments on how scrumptious everything smells with much vigor. He has, however, given himself away in that he also says this when I haven't actually started cooking it yet and there is nothing to smell.
We're going to go for a walk locally today and then it is back to finish the chores we didn't do yesterday and then sit in the garden. I'll finish attaching the new lining to my bag then.
Lunch is leftover jambalaya and OH is making tea. He has two options on the menu plan, so not sure which he'll choose.
I only have one lavender plant right now, but it was very prolific this year. I'm drying a bit as my sachets need to be refreshed (mum made me some lovely ones years ago so I just re-fill them periodically).
Fingers crossed our sunglasses arrive soon. We ended up doing the 2 for £19 deal on MSE, which didn't require the same prescription, but you do have to pay £10 for tinting. Still, it was cheaper than OH had found elsewhere and we got two pairs in the process. I hear we're going to have a summer one day next week and I want to be prepared!0 -
Chuckling at the foodie stories - my current DH is the eldest of 6 and will eat anything put in front of him ( including burnt offerings at times!) Only thing he won't tough is pork slices 'cos he had so many as a kid but will do spare ribs. Im a reasonable plain cook & my Ex once lifted his dinner plate to sniff it ( not in a nice way) needless to say he wore his dinner instead. I have calmed down somewhat over the yearsSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Peter is Peter Ginn, who with Alex Langlands and Ruth Goodman present TV programmes such as Victorian Farm, Victorian Pharmacy, Edwardian Farm, Tudor Monastery Farm and Wartime Farm.
I watch them purely for the historical interest, Mar lust's over Peter, Monna despairs of both of us.
Softstuff, we will look for somewhere to go when we have our property on the market, no idea yet, I feel like Sisyphus, as hubby is desperate to get away from work, but too depressed to help.
My ex would eat any food put in front of him, my current beloved is fussy but not particularly difficult, he want's meat and potatoes or rice/pasta. He counts offal, mince and sausages as meat so it isn't expensive to feed him. I eat vegetarian meals sometimes, but I will try anything I've never eaten before just out of curiosity. My L&M always say's 'Thank you' after every meal even if he then say's 'don't make that again for me'. He can also make a meal if I'm not around or don't feel like cooking.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
I forgot to say to Pollyanna that I enjoy seeing recommendations so please mention them! We only watch things on catchup so I often miss when new things are out. I suspect this new programme might discuss some of the new foods available via rail transport which will be especially interesting. I'm not only about the food, I did particularly enjoy the wattle and daub fence building, but I can't remember which programme that was.0

One of my friends recommended Escape to the Chateau, about the renovation of said chateau, it didn't grab me, but some of you might like it.Chin up, Titus out.0

I have checked out Peter and Mardatha has no competition from me. He's not exactly Sean Bean Hester.
You made me chuckle with your mention of "thank you" followed by "don't make that again for me", I once accidentally threw cinnamon in a chicken dish instead of coriander and just went with it. It tasted like scented soap. Hubbys response was "thank you" and "was it supposed to taste like that?".Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
True Softstuff, Mar is safe from me, Peter isn't my type, he's not Sean Bean.Chin up, Titus out.0
