Yes, monna posted on another thread earlier today (I found her post, then came back here and saw FairyPrincessk's post.). I've pm'd her and hope she'll pop in soon.0

I hope we have not lost a lot of others. We can't help it if trolls come on our thread.
I saw a good post on You Tube the other day on trolls. I will post it late when I have looked for it. I just came in from Mr M.0 -
As promised here is the thread on tolling. I hope people find it helpful.

We recognise that some people who are trolls come from outside this thread. As you see from this piece once a particular thread has been trolled, it will be trolled again if they get a reaction from you.
Occasionally one of us reads something that was not even meant when it was written or often is not even there. It is something to do with the lack of inflection or emotion in the written word.
I do hope people are not abandoning this thread.0 -
Thanks NurseMaggie - and I started watching that clip and admit thinking "Agh...my head hurts - with all these different possible motivations they might have for doing this". I tend to think it's easier to think "Oh well...it must be their version of kicking the cat because they've had a bad day....and try not to feed the troll". I tend to think just ignoring them as far as possible is probably the best way to deal with them imo.0

You see I get a bit mixed up about your definition of trolls. You've accused me of being one on a few occasions yet it has never been my intent to disrupt a thread when I have posted. I just occasionally like to remind other posters of your many alter egos. Particularly when you profess to be so many things that turned out not to be true when you exposed yourself as being another poster whose life bore little resemblance to the one you were telling everyone about. I don't think that the genuinely good and kind posters in here should be taken in by your lies and delusions. Does that make me a troll? I rather think someone who has posted on here under at least six usernames and whose posts have often been fabricated and on occasion very racist is more likely a troll in my book.
Is it because of a troll that some regulars are not posting? I thought they left over the preppers thread and this thread is just a casualty of that debacle?Life is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have.0 -
Mila, I hope he finds the problem with the pipe is actually caused by buried treasure.
Xx
:rotfl: :T:T. That would be the best possible scenario ever!!!!
The trip to the doctor was a nice day, except seeing the doctor who can be a twit sometimes. He told me I probably had reached optimum benefit from my weekly allergy shots a nd could quit. I told him...You decide this after 27 yrs of my taking them weekly? You have got to be kidding me!!!
He said well you could get off of them for a few months before your next annual visit and we could retest you.
That I'm willing to do because it would be a true indication of my actual allergy severity, I told him. So we agreed on that way forward.
If I don't take my shots, I get migraines. He knows that and was ignoring the fact. GRRR!!Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Thanks for missing me!
No great dramas here, just life getting in the way of the really important stuff, like posting on forums. Certainly not occasioned by trolls, bless their poor little twisted minds.
Love you all. Be back soon.

Morning all,
OH has gone off for a swim this morning, so Maggie the cat and I have the house to ourselves. I'm about to start some washing and then get started on a bit of work. We're having lunch in town and then I have an errand or two before I head to the gym. OH is making tea, either jacket spuds or falafels, which will be yummy. We'll have the leftover quiche for lunch tomorrow with some salad.
I'm feeling a bit guilty at the moment for not working more hours, but at the end of the day no one is paying me for this work as as long as I'm doing what I need to so that someone will EVENTUALLY pay me to do it, I guess I should please myself!
Thanks for the wave Monnagran. I hope things will calm down soon for you.
Nursemaggie Very interesting links. We've lost a lot of posters on this thread over the years. Sometimes I think life just gets in the way. I stopped posting on this thread for awhile, partly because this thread was originally for helping people to get through tough times and I really didn't have a tough time to get through anymore. In the end I think if enough of us post with a positive, welcoming voice that we'll be in the majority and we'll drown out any unpleasantness!
Mila I hope the respite from the shots turns out to work well and that there aren't migraines ahead for you!
Burtha Such positive news all around! I hope you all have the best of summers!0 -
Pleased to hear you are ok monna and your DILs mum is making progress.
Sounds like you are having fun burtha, we are on our 3rd week of summer holidays, thank goodness I don't have anyone to please but myself!
Really need to cut the grass, there seems to have been quite a bit of rain whilst I've been away so it looks really messy out there, may even play with the strimmer too - it will probably break, I seem to have to buy one every year.0
