Oh, Floss you do know how to make my heart flutter!

Nice to see you both Silvasava and Nursemaggie!

Thus far my list includes strawberry jam (with the strawberries from the garden)
lemon curd because I love it
apple butter because I haven't had it in donkeys
Something with blackberries becuase I can pick them for free (any inspiration floss? Must be seedless, I can't abide the seeds)
Elderberry syrup--just to have a go

And something savoury. I'm thinking maybe a picallili but haven't decided yet.

FPK You can sieve the seeds out of blackberries, look for a recipe for blackberry jelly. You also need some apple to help it set.

Well thanks to your link I have just been on flea bay and bought a jelly bag and stand. I'm not sure whether to thank you or thump you for making me spend money lol. Not very OS but am sure it will come in handy so will hold off with the gratuitous violence for just now xx

I don't get on here to post much but do call by and read all the posts I can and visit my dear friends. I was alerted earlier to Mrs LW leaving and apparently Kittie too - this makes me sad as 2 of my favourite people will be a great loss.

Over the last few years I have been given wonderful support on this thread and treasure it.

As for trolls and midges Mardatha at least you can swat midges :p.

Life has been unkind to us again at Ginny towers but we muddled through - the government got confused again  I'm still standing unlike most of the veg I planted :o

I am busy making do and mending for the grand childrens new bedrooms when they finally find a house. Boo will have a princess room resplendent with knitted bunting and a tutu style wreath whilst Pickle will be loving his superhero bunting and framed treasure maps. Also have to dig out the lovely oak dolls crib I bought at a CS for £2 and dress it up for her.

Ds was made redundant  just after he bought his house but starts a new job on Tuesday...breathes a sigh of relief... so eventually we may have babies on the way so I guess more knitting will be in my future.

Hubs isn't doing to good and all the palaver with the DWP hasn't helped so he spends much of his time in bed now even when the children are here.

Sending hugs to all my lovely friends on here and will try and pop by more often xxx

I always make blackberry & apple jelly (my brothers demand as part of their Christmas box, as our mum used to make it!).

Savoury-wise - I make herb jellies with apples and whatever is abundant. They're great with roasts or cold cuts, and add flavour & shine to gravy too.

My mum used to make bramble jelly and used a pillowcase dangling off a broom I think! I'm also a lurker, hello to everyone! Helena

Anyone for Pimms & a scone with homegrown strawberry jam?

I'm watching the tennis, while stripping the first batch of the allotment blackcurrant harvest :)

Well, I missed out because I was out last night.... but I'm assuming you saved a virtual one for me. I may have had a sparkly wine too many and am nursing a wee bit of a hangover. That's what happens when my friend has a barbecue (and tries to cheer me up). In any case, allotment berry for me please, but no pimms... :D

*hugs* Ginnyknit. I'm not sure the government knows what harm they cause with their mistakes. And if they did I'm not sure they'd care.

Hubby has just asked if I'm planning a wash because he's on his last set of undies, so I suppose I'd best get my 'arris in gear :rotfl:
