Afternoon Fencers .
Kittie I will miss you too very much . I hope perhaps those who can will be back some time .
Welcome to AOD - I haven't managed my post on the daily for a few days but always enjoy your posts . In the main my life is mainly mundane making sure all the different balls are in the air it isn't always good to live in " interesting times "
Mar I actually suggested the sock record on another thread yesterday .
I have a full on week ahead with various medical and other appointments . I hope to pop in and out if possible but I will continue to post here as long as I'm welcome .
Thinking of Monna , Softstuff , Hester and any feeling down or overwhelmed at the moment .
My bit of the fence is probably in need of a bit of paint by now I've been mia so often .
Take care all see you soon

There but for fortune go you and I.0 -
Hi not been here for a few days and see I have been missing out. Firstly congrats to MrsLW for her new grandchild to be. As she has now sadly gone from the thread I hope someone who is in contact with her would be so kind as to pass on my best wishes.
Sad to see a couple of posters leaving us I am not up on the reasons for this and don't wish to start anything up by people letting me know I just hope that they feel they can come on sometime in the future when time has passed and feelings aren't so raw.
Welcome to the newbies look forward to hearing all about yourselves.
Happy birthday Jayzee hope you have a great day.
Floss yes please sounds yummy though not good for the figure lol.
Hugs to anyone who needs them xx0 -
It has been a strange year for me, so my posting has been erratic and I've bounced around different threads. I went through long stretches of not having time to read and then never quite feeling I could catch up. I'd just started reading again when everything seemed to become so troubled. I did try making a couple of posts, but the more that was posted on the subject the more it seemed to get worse. There were many things said that felt mean-spirited and I didn't want to contribute to that. I was sorry to see posters I have a lot of respect and affection for become very upset. Although I didn't necessarily agree with some of the long-time posters, I respected their opinion and wish that it had not come to such a sad end.
I'll be trying to post a bit more often on some of my old haunts over the next few weeks, as and when I can, not because I think those like Mrs LW and Kittie can be replaced, but because I think it was their generous posting and those like them that made these threads great and I'd like to continue to try to make them that way. It saddens me that there seems to be a division between 'new' and 'old' posters that I've not seen before on the OS board and I hope this division is short-lived. I hope anyone who has left will feel able to return in the fullness of time, that new posters will feel welcome and see what great resources there are here, but likewise I hope some of the old friendly spirit will return.0 -
All I can say is FairyPrincessk is that it's very nice to have you back0

Thanks Ivyleaf! Tonight I'm plotting out the things I want to preserve this year. I think my dreams may be bigger than my jar collection0

Oh, and Floss I've never quite acclimated to the taste of Pimms, but I'll take a scone with hm jam any day of the week (or time of the day for that matter!)0

FP I've a selection of hm sweet preserves if you'd like another scone - blackberry & apple jelly, gooseberry jelly, rhubarb & orange jelly, blackcurrant jam, rhubarb & ginger jam ( my fave!), raspberry jam, allotment berry jam (all the odd bits of fruit!) and grape jelly2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Delighted to see you again FPK.
Floss are you trying to fatten us all up for Christmas. I think at least half or us will be tough old birds.0 -
Nursemaggie - thanks for the clarification, I was rather at a loss to understand. Mardatha - yes you are right life goes on and all I can say about trolls is they must have a sad life. I'm a firm belief in the Thumper ethos - if you can't say anything nice then say nothing at all.
Rainy start to the day here but now got all the bedding blowing on the line. DH took me out for a carvery dinner & then said it wasn't as nice as him cooked - bless him! Just vegging now with a coffee.
Have a good evening all xxx
Good to 'see'you fairyprincess & well said. I've got plenty of spare jars for your jam & preserves............;)Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0
