Thanks Ivyleaf, I'm ok at the moment when I can't manage anymore then hopefully someone else may step in.

I wish some of us could sometimes Hester. At least if the L&M gets a break he might feel a bit more himself temporarily.

7 cubic meters of mulch is arriving today and will be moved. The side garden next to the garage which was really supposed to be a small job by comparison to the rest turned out to be a bigger one. The brick edgjng was cemented in with rather a lot of cement, the palm roots of the palm stumps that had been removed were... everywhere and the soil was full of rocks. 770kg of crap to the tip later (I know the weight because the rubbish removalist told me), we're getting there. Honest. :D

I do tend to end up with some pretty gigantic projects. Kind of accidentally really. It snowballs. Neighbours who have seen what we're up to are aghast at the scale of the project. Me too :rotfl:

I thought my plumbing problems were over but no, it ain't so!
Leak behind washer and dryer from the drain. The whole bedroom floor will now have to be ripped up and the metal drain replaced there and then the laundry room. The concrete dust as the floor is jackhammered up covers everything in thick dust. Oh brother! Here we go again.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Oh Mila, what a nightmare for you.
The freezer is full of food for hubby to take to Silverstone, the cupboards and fridge are full of food to feed the DGC's on.
I'm almost ready for the invasion of small people.
I can't see much housework being done this weekend but there's more important things to do than housework any day.
Monna, I hope you are ok, love and hugs to you and yours. I'd offer to pray but I'm not sure you'd appreciate pagan prayer even though I don't go skyclad.
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • I think Monna would take any prayer going:rotfl:. Just call it "beaming positive vibes" at her:)

SoftStuff - I'm in awe at all your hard work. Am taking you as a good example and thinking "If SoftStuff can do that amount of stuff - then I'm sure I can manage this amount of stuff" to make myself get back to it.:)

mila So sorry to hear that ((HUGS))

Thinking of you and your family monnagran x

Lyn I put my trekking sandals on this morning as being the ideal thing to pop my feet into when I went out to put the bins away. I'd forgotten how comfy they are, and I've only got them because of a link you posted last year, so thank you again :T

Supposed to be looking after the DGC after school, but not sure what's happening - it turns out there was meant to be an event going on after school today, but yesterday DGS said it had been postponed until Friday, but there's no official info about that from the school! So DD2 is going to have to find out this morning, and let us know. It all gets stupidly complicated sometimes which makes me even tireder, if that's a word. (Whinge, whinge! :D)

I hope they get you all sorted soon Mila, this is really turning into a saga for you isn't it?

Hope you have a lovely weekend Hester, even if it is hectic.

Ivyleaf, it always seems like schools expect folks to be mind readers wi the ability to change all plans in an instant. Hope you get it all figured out.

Mtstm, we moved the first 7 cubic meters of mulch before lunch, had a lunch break, ordered more mulch, moved half a cubic metre of rocks, the mulch was delivered and we moved 1 1/2 cubic meters of it, then I had an hour long pilates session before visiting the hardware store, a friend and then making dinner. I am now sat seizing up slowly! :rotfl:

The after-school event is still on today, so i think DGS just wasn't listening properly ;) So all we have to go is go to DD's house and be there in case DGS needs to be collected before it ends. Light Duties today then :D and OH can watch the Tour de France on their TV while I re-read Good Omens on my Kindle.

Hugs Mila I could cry with you. 5 years ago we developed a leak in the kitchen. We ended up having the kitchen and breakfast room floor up and a new kitchen. The leak happened on 12 th July they finally finished the work on 24th December. I know exactly what you are going through. They even had the carpets up upstairs looking for the pipe.

I hope it does not get any worse. I'll be thinking of you and praying it does not keep on escalating.

You can imagine the panic I felt when I found a wet patch on the kitchen floor in the same place exactly 2 years later. I had just come out of hospital having had major abdominal surgery. I was not able to do anything. Thank God it was just a badly fitted pipe under the sink and fixed by the landlords odd job man in a few minutes.

softstuff don't you go overdoing it and end up on bed rest when it is only half done. I can imagine you hobbling about like DS did when he first started work with all of his blisters and aches and pains.

He has now completed his 3 month trial but is still only on a 10 hour contract.

Do you remember those white enamel dishes? The ones with the blue rim. I started using mine several weeks ago, for small crumbles and hm ready meals to freeze but the other day I wanted some saute potatoes and some roasted shallots, so I melted a little butter on an enamel plate in the oven, coated the cooked potato slices and baked at 200 for a while. omg they were so lovely. I also roasted some shallots tossed in olive oil on a small enamel plate

I pop everything in the dishwasher these days and normally I would have used small baking trays but the enamel plates just stacked in there with plates and saucers. I have been baking a frozen croissant on an enamel plate too and ditto re washing. Well those enamel dishes come out sparkling clean and so easy to stack

just wanting to share as it is so much easier than using baking tins. Like lots of things, old is best
