Hmmm - so its not 50 years with never a cross word then Mardy?? Haha - I always think when I hear that it must be a boring marriage then! Don't get me wrong - I love DH to bits but he does know how to push my buttons and sometimes I could swing for him!!! Instead of a mincer I could recommend Paraquat sandwiches -a little bit crunchy but very effective :whistle:Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Very belated birhday and anniversary wishes to Softstuff .
Calming thoughts to Mar !
Lovely to see Pooky . I followed your kitchen renovation on the forum .I think it was sc thread but can't find your posts . It was you who was doing it with your dad wasn't it ?
Greenbee You seem eo have a big task ahead of you . I have to turn my mind at some point to 20+ years of upgrading needing doing here .
I have a complete new kitchen - except appliances - which was bought when mfi closed down . I do check it and it seems ok . I even have the proverbial kitchen sink !
Real life has taken over for many years but as I am in my sixties now I will have to find a way to get on with it .
Take care all

Pollyanna, we put our kitchen in about 2 year ago finished just putting the floor down before Christmas just gone, before that it sat in my garage for about 6 year.... We have a new shower room going in soon , it has been in progress over the last 5 ?? year everything still in boxes , we bought it when focus/home base ?? went in to administration , one day we might have the money to put it in.....
Smashed window was replaced on Friday , cctv stuff here just needs dh or ds to put it all together and up ....
definitely has been one of those weeks , we had someone in bar who was in on the condition of his best behaviour.....Didn't last , so I stopped his drink so he decided it would be a good idea if he punched me ..... so lots of noise but he was swaying that much even if I was 10 ft wide he wasn't going to hit me ..... so now he is barred ...idiot
Kids and me now on holiday for a week , yeah :T
Belated birthday and anniversary wishes
It's snowing .....:) and I don't have to go anywhere

Burtha:enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. You will really appreciate a break this time, even if it does mean being closeted indoors with kids and snow outside.
Oh the joys of fitting kitchens. I well remember moving into my tiny cottage with the new kitchen in boxes filling the sitting room and sitting on our beds eating fish and chips because there was nowhere else to go.

Burtha I am glad to find I'm not the only one with never ending lists of things to do . I am pretty competent with diy but the important stuff like plastering , electrics ,gas work is where the big money is needed .
i have struggled to keep up with the threads recently and was so sorry to read of the attack on your home . To now read of the new event is awful - what is the matter with these people ? It must be so so disheartening to do your very best and be subjected to this behaviour .
I really hope you will have peace from now on . I am a great believer in karma and hopefully these idiots will get theirs .

I'm trying at present to get the spare bedroom and study done, once they are we can move most of our belongings into there before knocking down some walls and ripping up some flooring. I am learning to be more patient, hubby meanwhile ran out! I'm moving at a snails pace though, have been feeling off my game.
Didn't get the job, at least they let me know.
Mardatha, you'd be better off renting a wood chipper for a dayIn fact, you probably wouldn't need it for the whole day, do you could pass it on to Burtha to deal with her problems :rotfl:
