For my nugget of information for the day of "I didn't know that..." - what are Wels-rated taps? and why do the Australian Government insist on them?0

I'm pleased all those years harking on about a blanket has paid off Lyn. Enjoy the warmth knowing it has been made by 100% odds and ends of wool that cost next to nothing in comparison to any other woollen counterpart
I've had a bit of forum time off and feel all the better for it. No reason really other than wanting to craft, bake, potter in the garden etc.
I saw DH off this morning with his lunch and porridge, watched him drive up the snow covered hill with nervescand willing him to do it (he did) put the kettle on and now I'm sat in bed catcing up on news, homemaking blogs and crochet instagram. Tablet all is forgiven... if only every morning could begin like this *love school holidays
Aside from bathroom cleaning day and daily laundry chores, I am destined to make brownies, sourdough pizza for lunch, a cottage pie to portion and freeze with veg for spare DH's lunches and try my hand at home made oven chips to go with burgers for tea.
I have ordered the rest of the wool to. Omplete my longline cardi and rather naughtily added a couple of balls of aran to begin a jumper... I'm going orange0 -
Any one heard from Monna lately, she seems to be MIA.Chin up, Titus out.0

Hi FUDDLE I always make home made oven chips, so much cheaper and I think nicer than frozen ones. I chop the potatoes into chips the size we like, give them a good wash under running water than dry them completely in a clean tea towel. Then I put them into a big bowl and pour over a couple of TEASPOONS of sunflower oil and using my hands turn the chips round and round until they are completely oiled. I season them with pepper and a tiny bit of paprika but no SALT because this pulls moisture out of the potato and makes the chips soggy. I line a baking sheet with baking paper and pop the chips on to it and into a fairly hot oven for about half an hour, I turn them over once in the cooking time. I always add the salt after they're cooked, much nicer that way. This method works well for oven wedges and sweet potato oven chips too.0

Ooh thanks Mrs LW, I make those too but had never thought of putting paprika on them! I shall do that next time.
Re kitchens - my DS had a look at the ones in Selco and was pleasantly surprised. Ours is falling apart as it's very old, so he says he'll get me a new one from there and will take me to have a look at them. And I'm sure he will, eventually0 -

Sorry Hester, your peace is over. I'm back. I've had my DB and SIL here since Thursday and hardly stopped to draw breath. It was great I don't think we stopped talking for 4 days. Anyway, I am going to go and stay with them when they come back from their trip to China.
I'm right with you Cuddle and birth a. I used to love it when my boys were off school. Just being free of clock watching was like a holiday for me. We also have my DGS here for half term. Autistic he may be but he has a great sense of humour and is very gentle and loving. I adore him.
Sorry birth a I've just seen what the **** tablet has done to your name. It makes you a good companion for fuddle. What the .........? Enjoy the moment fuddle.
Have just made an industrial vat of mince so that DIL will have a base for meals this week. I think they are expecting visitors on Friday so i hope there is enough for spag bol then. I have alsospotted some left over ham in the fridge so I think a quiche is called for.
While the tablet is in an obliging mood I'll make the most of it................
Cuddle, Cuddle, Cuddle, Cuddle. Sigh! I should have known better.
