Well this weather is still so mild and sunny , cant believe ive only had the heating on about half hour in the morning and same tea time ish , house is keeping lovely at about 19 degrees .....
Ive been helping my neighbour put a PVC canopy over the hens to stop this damn mud for the winter , I love getting outside and doing that type of thing , tomorrow ive got to sort extra nesting boxes out , so I will go secondhand furniture shop and pick up sum old drawers from old chests what I know he will have laying out back and bring them home and fix them in their house for laying in ......
Im sick of all the christmas adverts on tv already , its far too early for all that , and what a waste of money , ive never broke myself over christmas and I definitely dont intend to this year , its all too much for lots of people , I will do what I do every year and thats put some dosh in christmas cards for the family , its better than spending couple days shopping in high streets and buying gifts that no one really wants ...
Well the nights are so long and dark now and I normally suffer from SAD syndrome but im not doing too bad so far , im keeping myself very busy and make sure I have couple walks down the beach every day with the dog .......I hope your all doing okay and keeping well , Sheila
It's so lovely to hear how your health has improved Shelia. I know you were so worried about your DH going into his home but I really do think it sounds like it's been so "right" for both of you (if you know what I mean). Carry on enjoying those beach walks, I'm a firm believer that walking next to the sea has magical properties. Mardatha - are you ok? I have seen some awful reports of the weather in Scotland and was worried for you.
Sheila -good idea to try covering the chicken area, they will be grateful I am sure0 -
Yea ty kidcat, I wasn't in the amber zone, it missed me. We had gales and then snow this morning though, now turned to pelting heavy rain. Def a night for the fire!0

Not sure where abouts you are mardatha but we pretty well missed it too, strong winds and heavy rain but not as bad as expected despite the children at school running about shouting 'Abigail's coming!' We have more heavy rain to come over the weekend, lovely.
I was going to meet DD this evening but the big bridge is down to one lane due to the conditions so decided to leave it. Took some cheques to the bank, collected new specs and took some prints to the picture framers - that's DDs christmas pressie sorted.
Stay safe and have a good weekend.0 -
Thinking of our posters in the North and hoping you're all okay and not flooded :eek:0

Only a bay window roof leaking again they only patched it up earlier in the year. It is the first time it has rained so much since it was fixed. I am wondering if our landlord will bother now that he is selling it.
Fingers crossed we get to see the flat this week and then we can get on with moving assuming it is OK.0 -
Dreich miserable awful sunday lol - bleugh!0

Had to go on a diversion to get to Clydebank which wasn't too bad. Probably spent an hour there in a couple of shops and it took me an hour and a half to get to the supermarket 5 miles away! The main road is closed due to flooding and there is total chaos. The journey usually takes 15 minutes.
Anyway, I have decided to make DD an advent calendar of sorts, one gift bag for each day (I'll number them). Some gifts are just a can of pop that she likes, some with sweeties, a brolly, a christmas decoration, some of her favourite crackers, etc. There are also some nice things like nail varnish and lipstick.
I was in Home Bargains (what a shop!) and they had red and white snowflake style onsies in a t shirt material for the grand sum of 99p! I bought 4, DD will get one in her calendar. I will be keeping one for myself, just for a laugh on christmas day.
Going to wrap some of the bits up now, the weather has been so bad I just feel like doing something cosy.
Hope you are all safe and dry.0 -
Fingers crossed for you nursemaggie!
Raining here this morning, but seems to be trying to clear up a bit. Due to get much colder at the weekend.0 -
I should never, ever get fancy in the kitchen. I was trying today to make carmelised onions. Nose buried in a book, I reached into the cupboard for sugar to sprinkle on them, grabbed a pinch and chucked it on the frying onions. Then noticed a smell of coffee..... WRONG CANISTER lol
:rotfl:How funny. Reminds me of when I picked up the can of hairspray thinking it was deodorant to spray under my armsCat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:
