    90 chickens!!!??

I do miss my brood but the garden is too small here, they always gave me a nice welcome when I came home from work. Well, until I gave them food!

Burtha, as usual I'm no further forward after seeing this consultant. He said he hasn't ever had anybody with my symptoms before (unique!! yaaay meee) and he's sending me for another MRI and then to see a (inhale) neuro opthamologist (exhale). Am beginning to wish I'd kept quiet and just got on with it lol

You should probably take things a bit easy burtha, but that doesn't sound like you :)

Well, this was the third Wednesday morning in a row when it was raining hard when I got the bins in. It only takes a few minutes to do ours and our neighbours' but always seems twice as long and arduous in the rain!

DS said he bought a poppy yesterday but he was about to go on the Tube, which was even busier than usual because of the strike on the Docklands Light Railway, and by the time he came out his poppy was gone :D I bet hundreds get lost on the Tube!

Ohh Burtha, read some - not all - of your posts and I am quite a bit squeamish to stuff like that, but wish you all the best (got to the screw holes bit and that was enough for me).

Chickens11 - do the count down to the middle of February when the lighter nights start drawing in it's about 13 weeks away and it will go fast - especially so once Christmas and new year are over with - but I am with you on the dark nights/mornings!

Well, I wanted to bring you up to speed with things on the local situation. Loved being back down in Northants for house sitting. Spent allot of time with friends, but I am not sure that moving back would be wise just yet! Allot of money got spent moving up here and being back there for those three weeks made me realise how much building is going on. There seems to be planning applications galore.

We are kind of a bit cushioned from it up here - we do still have it but not on the same scale as down south!

The local nutter has had an epic row with one of the neighbours whilst I was away (I just flipping well missed it I was gutted I can tell you ) so I had all that to come back to. :) The odd "haven't seen you for a couple weeks" comments etc has been err well - different I suppose :o don't know whether it was good or bad and I was not overly inclined to find out either!

Looked foward to coming back though mainly because Im issed my bed and my familiar stuff and of course the animal mad house that is this place. Dogs were elated to see me - cat well she kind of really couldn't give four paws I guess as long as her food is there - all a bit mercenary!

So, I suppose the words "if in doubt do nowt" come to mind. I shall let you know in the New Year what exactly is on the cards!

Thanks for the wise and sage advice all of you - it's been much appreciated :T
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D
  • Hi RAINY DAYS, it's always a bit odd going back 'home' after a few years away because all your memories are of the place one way, nostalgic and happy memories that make you feel homesick and if you haven't settled where you've relocated to for whatever reason that may be, it comes as a big shock to the system to find that 'home' has moved on to somewhere different in those years doesn't it? When we first came to Hampshire on a job move I HATED it here, I loathed the place, the people, especially the neighbours, the people here were NOT friendly at all and I was lonely and like you all I wanted to do was go 'home' again. Now, some 23 years later THIS is home, it took getting the job locally to let me find the people here, it took earning my place to become part of the village and it took a good friend to point out to me that it is an ideal place to be as you age, she is right and I am now content. It takes time lovey, and looking with new eyes at where you are and finding what IS good to let you move on from the past. I hope you get there, life is much nicer if you can.
