Aw burtha, sorry the treatment was so horrible :( I hope it does the trick.

I didn't get online at all yesterday ( :D). The hard drive in my laptop was failing, so as I couldn't afford a new one atm, DS kindly bought me a new hard drive and installed it (not without some problems.)

All was great the first day, taking a few seconds to boot up rather than 10-15 minutes, but that night it installed loads of updates, then when I turned it on the next day it couldn't configure them so I had to wait for a few hours while it took them off again....then when I turned it off that night it did it again, and yesterday I couldn't get in at all, as it spent all day taking updates back off.

It did shut down and restart at one point and I got quite excited, but I needn't have bothered, it was still taking the updates off. In the end I gave up, and shut it down by pressing the on/off switch for a moment.

Anyway, today I switched it on at about 9.30, more out of curiosity than hope, and just a little while ago I realised I could hear the tiny noise the processor makes when it's on "properly", and here I am :j

Only thing is, I don't think I'll ever dare turn it off again....

Sorry to hear that burtha, you keep strong and keep going xxx
I've got slightly high BP and need another MRI scan, but I'm fine apart from being tired.
  • Hello all , Burtha, so sorry to hear youve been through the mill, I hope you soon get better , but remember rest is the best...
Ive been quite busy inside and out as usual , ive decorated the hall myself in my own time , I painted above the dado rail a taupe / beige colour , then I wall papered below with some lovely Laura Ashley cream wall paper in the sale at £16 per roll and needed 5 rolls , well why pay £30 a roll for B&Q wall paper when you can buy one of the best quality papers at a fraction of the price......

Damn hall is 28 ft long and have 8 doors so there was a lot of work for me there , but I did do it slowly so took me near on a week to complete , didnt want to mess myself up......

Got loads of leaves coming down now so I think its a waste of time clearing and sweeping them all up until the very last leaf as fell, then I;ll get the lawn mower out and do final clear up will start.....
Ive now got 90 odd hens so im kept very busy .....
Hubby is still loving his nursing home so thats all good , and im enjoying living on my own too....

I do not like these dark nights at all , as some of you know im a SAD sufferer in autumn/winter , but im bearing up ok so far this autumn , ive upped the anti depressants so im doing okay....

The weather is not cold yet , ive had the heating on a few times , ive got plenty of wood and coal when I do light the fire , im definitely not going cold , ive got arthritis but I can manage it , but this lately my poor old thumbs are so painful to bend and straighten .....Im sick of hearing people talking about christmas already , its far too early, mind you I dont do much at all for christmas , grand children and parents have money thats the easiet way to do christmas, hope to do a bit of back reading and see what youve all been up to.....Sheila

Lovely to see you posting, Sheila - wow, you have been busy! :)

burtha Thinking of you, hope you're continuing to improve!

mardatha Thinking of you too! I hope the MRI will be helpful.

I'm finally back with you all, DS has stopped the laptop from downloading automatic updates for now, until he has time to sort it out properly. It was horrendous, as it was downloading around 200 updates every time it was turned off, but then couldn't configure them, so I wasn't able to access the computer at all. Then last night it finally let me in, so I grabbed DS quick!
