Nice to see you, Petula :) I hope your back improves soon. People who've never had back problems don't realise how it makes it difficult or impossible to do so many things.

Most bad backs benefit from exercise Petula. not brisk walking and not to slow either just a gentle walk of an hour or two every day may help. You can do it in half hour stints if you like but just keep moving and not sit too much.

You could also ask your Dr for a referral to a physiotherapist. They will give you some exercises to strengthen your back.

Petula - I second Nursemaggie. I've had hip trouble for a while that was painful and starting to restrict my activity. The doctor thought was arthritis but I decided to see the Physio at the gym & she's diagnosed a problem with the piriformis muscle. She's given me some simple exercises and the difference is unbelievable in3 weeks! So please don't just put up with it - there may be some exercises on the internet that would help. I did Google mine just to make sure and she was spot on with the diagnosis and treatment . Do hope it improved for you soon.

Mainly back and knees for me. I get it totally. :(

Window cleaner came up with an idea today(I had considered already)why worry about the garden this late in the year. Put plastic sheeting down, let the grass/weeds die off.

In spring re sow the lawns. After all assuming the bad weather that's probably coming, at least its tidy until then and I can still plant bulbs and shrubs if its the appropriate time of year.

I can avoid any more cutting of lawns for 2015:p

Completely random comment here but this is over the fence isn't it - I am knitting THEE most fabulous socks ever :D One strand of pale pink merino sock wool, along with 2 strands of pale pink fine Italian cobweb mohair. It's so cosy - I'm going to make these as bedsocks for my DIL.

    The socks sound gorgeous Mar.

as for candlelight as i can say is :rotfl:

We went to DD's house earlier to see to the rabbit. It was a bit nervous, but when I stroked it it decided I was probably okay. Now trying not to worry in case I didn't close the hutch properly, because I know I did really.
