Slice your leeks, keeping the dark free tops separate for making soup, and open freeze on a tray before putting into a bag or box - then you can use by the handful.

Do the same with the onion.

Clean & cut the parsnip into roast-size lumps, blanch & toss in oil before open freezing & bagging, then you can add some to roast potatoes.

Our schools go back tomorrow and it's beginning to feel like autumn now. Summer been a bit of a non-event yet up here - nice now but def feels like autumn as the light has changed. And I've started on the sock knitting for xmas lol- that's always a true sign of autumn!
Almost killed ourselves emptying the livingroom for the new carpet coming this morning and we drew the line at the big couch - they'll need to fit the carpet around it lol cos we canny shift it.

I don't think it is memory foam - it certainly didn't feel like it. It's pocket sprung with a soft top :) I know we would find memory foam too hot as well.

Burtha well done with the club what a turnaround all your hard work and time are now showing themselves you should be very proud of what you have achieved.
With regards to parsnips I like using them instead of cabbage for coleslaw they are very nice raw and give the slaw a different taste.

DD2 and family going away today for a week; when she was on the train coming home from work last night she suddenly realised with horror that they hadn't arranged for anyone to see to DGD's rabbit while they're away.....so guess who'll be doing that......< rolls eyes>

That's what Mum's are for Ivyleaf! I get pressed for cat duty by DS1 - not sure what he'll do this year as we're away together lol (my puss is already organised!)
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
