That's what Mum's are for Ivyleaf! I get pressed for cat duty by DS1 - not sure what he'll do this year as we're away together lol (my puss is already organised!)
My neighbours are lovely but very elderly, and DS works long hours atm, so going away these days depends on whether the cattery has a vacant penAnd we didn't even choose to have this cat, he moved himself in! We do love him to bits though and are very glad he's here

Finished two pairs of socks in two weeks, (and the weather is colder and windier than ever) ... SOON BE XMAS EVERYBODY!:eek:0

When Mrs LW said the other day that autumn was on the way I felt really sad....then yesterday when it was chilly and windy I quite enjoyed snuggling into a fleece when I went out, and putting socks and shoes on0

Definitely looking on the bright side of life IVYLEAF!!!0

I'm thinking of more fleeces/faux fur throws for the home. Went to the supermarket an hour or so ago...miserable weather wind and rain. Most houses already in darkness. Those at the SM looked pretty down...going through the motions. Exciting shop shaving stuff and marmalade.
This weather is stopping me gardening and keeping on top of tasks now its neither one thing or another. But at least the grass is still low.
This weather may affect some events...vintage vehicles and buses and music on my town(Fri/Sat)Next week street entertainers in Durham, the following weekend a Folk Festival in Sedgefield. Summer?:p At least the concerts I am seeing were booked ages ago and are indoors.
Only real things I have done of late is get seen in images/on TV news getting into my political mode. Watching two Labour leader candidates though I know who I am voting for. That's as political as I am getting here:D"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Autumn is a killer for me. Everything dying, all my lovely flowers, I hate it. I even hate the colours. But winter I like, the long cosy dark nights and a good fire on0

It will be interesting watching Prime Ministers Question Time if Mr C becomes Labour leader! A lot of controversy about him, goes to show a lot of people in this country, whilst appreciating the need for careful budgeting, want a more caring way of running the country.
Anyway, enough of politics, does n't matter who you vote for, it is always the Government that gets in......One life - your life - live it!0 -

I've read that we tend to prefer the time of year when we were born. But I was born in October and prefer Spring, while DD1, a February baby, loves Autumn. (DD2 and DS tend to be too busy to notice what time of year it is, I think!) OH was born in May but likes summer as he's more mobile when it's warmer.
I can't remember when your birthday is Mar?0 -
That fits then, I'm 23rd Dec0

I am really bad about getting in here and I don't know why, it always feels 'comfy' as I read along. A real home from home on the internet
There isn't much to post about, I'm still laid up with my back and find it quite hard concentrating on much so spend a lot of time reading and watching tv/films, getting up and moving about every so often for a bit of pottering about to keep 'limber'
Just wanted to pop in while I'm online, I do read most days so thought I'd best de-lurk.0
