I am also pottering about in the house as it is miserable up here as well. Managed to get a couple of loads of washing done and some dishes and will think about doing something later on just now I am away to go and watch the Athletics. Hope you all have a lovely day

Persisting down here too :( so I've a Toffee Loaf in the oven and a Granny Cake waiting to go in - kitchen smells lovely & DH is in the garage tinkering supported by regular applications of coffee & tea!
Just 'pottering' too - cleared out a load of paperwork and cleaned fridge - nothing too strenuous :)
Have a good day all x

We've got the same rain as you silvasava, so haven't managed to go outside yet (I should have been for a run this morning). However, I have done a small amount of work, have a (very hot) curry in the thermal cooker for later (so nice warming cooking smells) and have done a lot of tidying in my office.

The house is cold, as the bathroom is being taken out today so lots of opening the door as stuff is moved outside. It is also very dirty from the bathroom, down the stairs to the front door. And will be dusty for several weeks while this and other work is done.

Nice day up here, 19C and no wind. I'd love to know how to do a Toffee Loaf silvasava... it sounds fabulous!

Bathroom has been gutted, and already looks better. They'll be plastering it tomorrow, and taking up the floor so they can make a start on pipework. Wednesday they're on another site while it dries (I have work that needs quiet, so this is good news, and they've done this to suit me). As soon as the weather improves they'll get on with outside work (which hopefully will give me time to make decisions on walls/floors/lighting...)

Mar - so would I haha!
It was a mix bought from Lidly - all you do is add water and vegetable oil and bake it in a 2lb loaf tin. It was just an impulse buy but TBH its turned out very nice - DH liked it so will buy again to put in store cupboard.

  • Silvasava I bought 2 from Lidl as well, having previously bought their chocolate fudge cake mix. DGD1 baked the chocolate fudge cake to take into work and the smell was gorgeous and very well received and I made the toffee one this weekend.

I don't normally buy cake mixes but I was interested to see what they were like because they were displayed with the bread mixes. I bought another 2 today to go in the store cupboard because Himself is very partial to a piece of cake

Candlelight - I don't buy mixes either but was curious. The toffee loaf mix has lots of small toffee pieces initandsmells lush while its baking - my DHis also very partial to a slice of homemade cake ;)
