Playing catch up with everything,we were away last week getting home teatime Friday, ..back about a hour before we had to go along to the club to sort stuff out ,club steward is now in plaster after a fall,( thankfully otherwise OK) so staff rotas to change and ended up working a lot over the last few days ...back to the real job yesterday ,home for a hour then club, sorted promotion board and ended up behind the bar because it was busy ( yeah , good stuff)
Ran around today at work ,then t*"'co,then babysat granchild:T ,then a**d ,finally back home at 8 30 to then make tea ,kids helped put shopping away so no doubt I will not be able to find anything ever again
Wish that tomorrow may be better ,but somehow I think not...hey ho

Can somebody tell me how to stew plums for crumble?0
-
Score the flesh round the stone & twist. remove the stone & lay face down in dish. I put in the oven covered for 15 mins then add the crumble uncovered. Better cooks than I, (Mrs LW ? )will be along in a moment Mar.0

TY - so no juice or water or anything then?0
-
Mar I always add just a tiny bit if I am stewing fruit.

Well. Waste of bloody time that was. By the time I had got the stones out of 3-4 plums I lost it, and opened a tin of peaches instead!0
-
Oh dear! I can understand that though mar. Did you make crumble with the peaches instead? I love peach crumble.0
-
Mar - for future reference I just simmer plums in a saucepan gently & when they are cooked the stones can be removed easily with a spoon. Then just put them in a dish when cold & put crumble on top & bake. Bet you enjoyed the peaches thoughSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

That's handy to know silvasava :T I would have wondered if the plums would be overcooked if i did that, but obviously not0
