I'm a survivor! Picture of my amazing little primrose who was mown flat last year and has come back with a lovely show of blooms, little taste of spring!
Lovely Mrs LW. In my little corner of Central Scotland they would be very welcome. Only signs in the garden are the Lily of the Valley shoots peeking through. Must say I have never longed so much for Spring.0 -
I've spent the morning sorting out our mini breaks. We're visiting my dad in London in August for a couple of days as he is waiting for a knee replacement so is no longer up to travelling far. He only has a tiny flat so I've booked a Travelodge room for me, my sister and master Cranky. I've also sorted a couple of activities for when Master Cranky and I have a mid week stay at Center Parcs. Llama walking being the most important. We mostly do the free swimming and as there are only the two of us, a studio apartment at CP works out cheaper than hiring a caravan elsewhere. I now feel much poorer than first thing this morning but also more grown up and organised :rotfl::rotfl:
Master Cranky has a small operation on Wednesday so I wanted to get a few things sorted beforehand. I will be doing our grocery shopping tomorrow after my dentist appointment and then after his op (it's a day case) I'm guessing that we will both be grounded for a couple of days. He has to have a week off school. I wouldn't say he's broken hearted about that. He also bought himself a lego set which I have promised to help him build while he is stuck indoors.
:rotfl: at the daffodil story Cat. At least they left you some standing.
Glad your little visitor behaved too SDG0 -
Cranky give my love to the house elf, hope all goes well for his op and he has a quick recovery xxClearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Poor old House Elf, hope all goes smoothly and that there will be big enough quantities of ice cream in the recovery phase. A lovely holiday in the pipeline will cheer his little self up too, will be thinking of you both on Wednesday, good luck!0

Favourite sweeties - coffee cremes. I know I am bizarre :rotfl:
Cranky - because I have got plenty of "stuff", I now get things like llama trekking in Yorkshire for birthday gifts. It was brilliant when I went! I could only go on the short trek because my walking was starting to deteriorate then but I loved it. When I am all mended I want to go again. I went down the mines at Castleton for my 50th and Mr Doveling bought me some Blue John jewellery. I much prefer to have new experiences now, nothing grand, but always fun.
I am starting to plan for my 60th in a couple of years time. I want a barge for the day on the Cheshire Ring. Really I would like our grandchildren to be able to at least doggypaddle by then, we're working on it:D. We have five grandchildren, ranging from one to nine. I think the collective noun for a group of grandchildren should be a giggle because that's all they seem to do!
Go, go! Little Miss Stilty, you'll both do great.
Talking of gardening, last year on another thread,I found a vertical garden thing made of pallets and 4litre milk bottles. Easy peasy lemon squeezy thinks I and made one. All good.:) Then due to life getting in the way I never put anything in it. At the end of the strawberry season I asked Mr. Doveling to put the strawberries runners in it so at least it was used for something. All good.:)
Through the summer I have had to sleep downstairs in the dining room but I could watch the birds from my bed or chair. One of next doors cats got one of the collared doves ,so Mr Doveling put a piece of wood over the top of the aforementioned pallets to make a wide table for the doves which they now use away from the cats. All good.
I now realise that we have trained half the bird population in our area to go to their personalised feeding station where strawberries will be featuring heavily on the menu:eek:
Any ideas?:oNot dim.....just living in soft focus

Hi everyone, not a lot to report here, Ive managed to peg some washing out and then drag it all back in as it started to rain. Can I lean on the fence with you all please. I am only 5" 2 and a little bit rounded too!!
I am still painting, have just done another door frame.
The only thing is now its all nice and fresh in there, you notice that other rooms are not quite as nice. The bottom hallway will be given a quick emulsion another week.
The big job for this year is to finally get the lounge sorted. We are investing in carpet for it, as the wooden flooring has definatley seen better days. Although my daughter thinks if its lifted correctly I shud be able to sell it on..... we will see.
Buddie has been snoozing all day, hes not his normal self. I wish I understood him more. He has eaten a few of his doggy biscuits and he stole the crust from my toast so hes not too bad.
Take care xBSC member 137

And the garden fence just keeps on growing to accommodate all us Les Dawson wannabees in our virtual pinnies and curlers, hitching up our bosoms to avoid the splinters......
Lovely photo of primrose, Mrs LW , I love the early spring flowers. I once bought a lily of the valley plant. Idiot OH plonked a new garden shed on top of it and that was the end of that. One life - your life - live it!0 -
We've just heard from our energy supplier and we've used so little gas and electricity this winter that they've reduced our direct debit by £20 a month. Very happy!0
