Energy Prices Increasing - Fix Now?

I am just interested as I am on E.oN v14 paperless and v16 would be a £65 increase for me as E.oN prices have actually gone up.
This Energyhelpline deal is appreciably cheaper than v14 in my region -standing charges are the same but leccy is 10.878 p per kwh and gas is 3.158 p per kwh inc VAT -AND miles cheaper than v16:)0 -

Found it now. This is getting altogether silly. We now need a comparison site to compare the 'best ever, cheaper than cheapest, save £400 pa' collective deals.' It looks like a £27 saving for me. I assume that you just applied via EHL? where were the 'no exit fees' confirmed? Thanks for the 'heads up'.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I have just put the figures into my spreadsheet and the only difference for me is the 1/2p saving per kWh of electricity. EHL shows a total annual saving of £27 but the true saving, in my case, would be £9.02. Another case of 'inflated savings methodology'. Eleven months on current tariff plus one month on the SVR.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Obviously not as good for you then - I'm showing £55 saving on gas and ~ £35 on leccy -HOWEVER, EHL site was showing more than double the savings because of "inflated savings methodology" !!:rotfl:
As to no penalty for swapping EON tariffs internally, that has been confirmed on several occasioins in earlier threads by the EON reps Malc and Helena:)0 -
Interestingly,
E.On 1 Year fixed v16 online is £1,085
E.On Age UK 2 Year fixed v5 online is £1,087
so why would anybody choose the 1 year fix, if they can get the 2 year fix?
Just a quick heads up Pincher. The Age UK 2 Year Fixed Tariff (version 5) is restricted to customers over 60 or those over 50 but on the Priority Services Register. To be on this, customers need to have told us they're of pensionable age, disabled, chronically ill or have sight/hearing difficulties. There's no exit fees with Age UK products, whether changing to another E.ON tariff or switching suppliers.
Hope this is of interest.

Hi brewerdave & Hengus
Just thought I'd pop on and confirm there's no exit fees for switching between E.ON tariffs. Exit fees only apply when changing supplier and, currently, only on certain products like the 1 and 2 year fixed tariffs but, as above, not with the Age UK 2 Year Fixed Tariff (version 5).
Hope this helps.

The biggest winners out of the whole energy market is the switching sites.
If the energy providers spent as much time and money trying to keep their customers, the switching sites wouldn`t be needed.
Maybe the EoN rep can tell us why they pay switching sites £60 a swop.0 -
Morning 2010
To be honest, I'm not sure what arrangements we have with the comparison sites. These are business decisions taken way above my customer service level. I will, though, be happy to send your comments to the appropriate people.
Thanks.

I have long suspected that the computer in charge of E.On is insane, and this is just further proof. The only 2 year fix product is for the over 60s?
Also, the one year fix is set ridiculously high above the market norm.
E.On didn't buy a second hand supercomputer called HAL 9000, by any chance? The problem is, if you challenge HAL on his mistakes, he turns up the air conditioning and locks the doors.0 -

A 2 year fix that would save me 0.78p per year. I suspect that E.oN's v16 fixed tariff increase is strategic price protection against a potential Labour GE win. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
