Get his Uncle to sell the stock he has and then his Uncle could lend him the money for a deposit on a room in a town that would be able to offer him employment opportunities.. This Jet Ski business obviously wasn't thought out properly, he can get them up and sold on EBay pretty quickly and the money used for a more sensible approach to gaining an income.
Lending money is not a option, if it was that easy he would of done it ages ago and I would of advised him the same.0 -
Thats the exact problem you have hit the nail on the head.In his current situation he cant be helped. He has to help himself which means walking upto 8 hours a day to try to source work, whilst living on £33 a week from next week for all utility bills and food.0

I don't know in what respect you are advising him, but you are blocking each and every bit of advise that you have been offered by other posters.
Plenty that don't want the hassle of signing on have had the bright idea that 'selling' on eBay will be the answer. Claiming benefits is their goal so that they don't have to do any 'real' work. If they also manage to sell one of their overpriced stock items, then that's just a bonus. It's not the primary aim.
The simple fact is that your friend does not have a viable business if he is not prepared to sell his stock at a reasonable and marketable value. I'm surprised that he doesn't have to see his advisor to prove he is trading ?
If he lives in such an isolated area and isn't inclined to move, he needs to find some mode of transport or walk. It's as simple as that.
If he has a genuine wish to make his business work, then he must be more proactive and get off his behind.....0 -

The business is viable hence has been signed off by the DWP.
As regards the moving or getting transport, how does he do this with no money?? And no transport means no job which means no money- its a viscious circle, unless he does walk the Im all ears.Borrowing is not a option.0 -

God your like a red rag to a bull you are!
It is NOT viable. I couldn't give two hoots what DWP told him. WTC will not class it as viable. Nor should they! Where have you been for the last year? They are trying to close loopholes! Not encourage them!!!
We've covered the transport problem with little difficulty already.
There's probably a very good reason why borrowing is not an option. This type of character is unlikely to pay it back! Who's fault is that?0 -

Selling on eBay is viable. That's why it's been signed off.
His business plan is not viable. That's why it won't work.
He needs to take control of his own personal environment. It's basic to human nature.
He needs to take some responsibility for the situation he finds himself in.
Advise him to move.
Advise him to get a bike/good pair of walking boots.
Advise him to sign back onto JSA0 -

Yeah I bet he soon manages to get his transport issues sorted when it comes to signing for free money.
I doubt much would stand in the way of him making it to town then!
All of a sudden these non options will fall by the wayside and he will find a way!

And your right nym selling on eBay IS viable. People run it as a good business. For the right person who puts the effort in then it is viable. And should be seen as so.
When I said it is not viable I was referring to this particular situation.
Sorry
didn't mean to pee off all eBay sellers. Christ I'd be hung! There's a lot of them

You claim that before he started his business, he was on JSA, so he must have had the means to get there once a week to sign on whilst claiming. How did he get there?0 -
I've read enough of this rubbish! LONDONBOY123 why not just be honest...this "friend" does not really exist, does he?0
