That's good to hear. Do that regularly and you should give your tdi a good chance to keep free of limp mode.

How regularly is recommended? It has only gone into limp mode once since I added the cleaner and I have tried many times to cause limp node.

I still have the same tank of petrol since I added the cleaner. Should I add some more cleaner fluid:

    1) now or
    2) after I refill or
    3) in six months time

    Hi,

I recognise your problem from the previous car I had a 2010 ford focus 1.6 and it turned out to be both the dpf and the egr. So i got a company in the midlands to remove both. I sold the car to a friend a few months after and there has been no problems with it since. You can find more info on dpf filters on www-dpffilter-ie

Can you please explain how you get the car to run without an egr fitted please as it wont
on your next post and on this one you go on to say that a garage has removed the diesel particle filter this is an offence here in the United Kingdom and if its an mot garage that did this in the UK then they risk having their mot licence revoked

EGR only passesexhaust gas back into the inlet side of the engine to help warm the engine when cold and help it run smoother and lower emissions.

At higher revs the EGR is normally fully closed and wont allow and exhaust gas into the inlet.

Blocking it off ususally makes little difference, Sometimes at idle or low throttle openings it sounds a bit more like an older diesel. Not as quiet as a modern diesel.

It can take a bit longer to warm up also.

My Mondeo Tdci has been going into limp mode after accelerating. Turn the engine off and on again and back to normal. A friend used a bluetooth code reader and came up with Turbo overboost fault. I bought a bottle of Forte Diesel turbo cleaner from Amazon. Put this in half a tank of diesel and it's solved my problem. Car is running really well now.

My Kia Ceed went in to limp mode a year or so ago, had the EGr valve replaced under warranty.

A few months ago it started doing exactly the same as the Ops, very rarely did i have any warning lights, this time it was just a dirty fuel filter, had it replaced and its been fine since

There were probably more codes than your friends reader picked up. Cleaning additives that you put into the tank wont clean a sticking EGR or turbo.

I did some more testing today. It seems to go into limp mode when I hit 3500 revs in third gear. It only seems to happen once each day ie the first time I reach 3500 revs in third gear each day.

How have you formed that opinion?

I asked around a few mechanics first before using the product and their opinion was it worked.
Also Google returns a few positive reviews for the product.

Because fuel does not pass through the EGR and it only passed through the turbo after going through the combustion chamber.

My guess they put the additive in and give it a thrash around the block which did more than the additive they used.
