WTBSE I went vegan last january and found it not too bad. Eating out is a nightmare though. Unless you can find a vegan restaurant in most places you have to have the veggie option. I have slipped a little the last couple of months but still try to be vegan as much as possible.
Yesterday was baked potato with curry beans and today was lentil and carrot soup so days #6 &7:)

I've been vegan for about 5 years now, was veggie for years and years and years before that.
I have learned that you just have to be a bit cheeky when eating out and ask them to veganise vegetarian dishes. I'm sure there have been a few chefs in various restaurants calling me for everything in the past but most oblige and if they don't, they lose custom to someone who will!
I am finding quite a lot of places have vegan dishes on the menu now . Don't eat out a lot, just celebration times really, unless someone has a voucher or discount card for somewhere. DS2 is veggie as well.0 -
Does seem like a lot of posters are vegan/veggies on this thread. Am assuming bringing in lunch makes it a lot easier?
Home made curry for lunch today, did a batch cooking session yesterday: lots of healthy treats and curry and a stew.0 -
I'm late with this - but can I join. I work 4 days per week but should be able to manage 16 out of 18 possible lunch to work days.
I managed to do it last week and have brought soup today for lunch (leftovers will go in fridge for tomorrow).
I'm allowing 2 non-home lunches because I'm meeting a friend next Friday for lunch (a fortnightly occurrence) and I may be having 1/2 day next week so will not need to bring lunch with me.

Hi. I started taking my own lunch last week. I'm saving a small fortune as I used to spend on average £5 per day. Can I join please? I have a total of 21 working days in March. Up to now I have taken lunch every day so would like to aim for the full 21£1000 Emergency Fund Challenge #92 £302.55/£1000 (30.2%)0

Today is #6/22 - wholewheat pasta pesto with pine nuts, cherry tomatoes, rocket and baby spinach. Plus fruit and mixed nuts for snacking.
I too had a batch cooking session yesterday so pretty well sorted for the rest of the weekMFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
5/17 today - also had lunch at home both days of the weekend too (but I'm only counting work days here...)
I've ben considering going veggie/vegan for a while but can't quite take the plunge. I'm a meat eater but most of my home-cooked food is meat-free so I am getting there. Hypocritical of me since I find the meat industry horrific but can somehow forget about it when I'm eating meat
Does it save a lot of money? My biggest expense in groceries is probably cheese with meat a close second...LBM - 3rd March 2015 - [STRIKE]£3604[/STRIKE] £0

Eating veggie definitely saves a lot of money. Using pulses and beans instead of meat is a huge money saver.£1000 Emergency Fund Challenge #92 £302.55/£1000 (30.2%)0 -
